If you started to read this and love the art.. you're in for a treat because as the story progressed, the art also got more and more beautiful. This one is a masterpiece, not only the art style but also the story. The author is so creative with the world building and the plots.. even in the side stories the author gave hints of plots that made me curious. They should continue this story for one or two or more seasons.
This Manga inspired me to explore and watch kabuki. Best way to keep reading this is
to read about three or four new chapters. The wait is longer but reading three or four new chapters all at once makes it easier to get the feel of the story.

If only! I don't think it will be as much of a big deal for our guys since at least Gensuke has a brother. This story reminds me of Hana no Miyako de, if you've read Hana no mizu shiru then that one doesn't quite reveal how hopeless it is until the end. At least we are prepared with this backstory.
gensuke's brother already explained that its impossible for him to be the heir since he doesnt have that manly voice and physique compare to gensuke which suitable to be the heir.

The author should have cleanly finished the main couple/first couple story and then started the second couple story (with first couple as side charcters).

I’m unsure if it’s right but the last chapter I checked with them is chapter 93. After that it suddenly switches to the new couple and so far after skipping around I haven’t seen the main couple again. I don’t remember seeing an official engagement yet or wedding
