Why does the artist keep making the heavy/tense scenes "comedic"?? Like I honestly don't understand the point. This is clearly a manhwa that deals with dark themes and we know how dreadful this experience is for the MC so why is there a need for these goofy ass scenes? Kinda distasteful in my opinion cuz I feel like it downplays the awful things that our MC is going through :/

Guys I HIGHLY recommend reading the novel. Just finished the last chapter of the side story (chapter 165) and omg the progression is unreal. Tae-jeong truly spends a good portion grovelling, reflecting and learning how to love properly. The last few paragraphs of the chapter actually had me kinda emotional ╥ ╥
Some quotes from Ki Tae-jeong in chapter 165 as he's writing his will before going into battle:
"And yet, receiving your love, I was able to exist not as a combat machine but as the human Ki Tae-jeong, and I was shamelessly happy.
Physical pain still doesn’t bother me, but I’ve become afraid of dying. The reason is naturally you. Because I love you, Sehwa, so much that I no longer want to die, because I love you so desperately.
