LONG COMMENT INCOMINGGGG
First and foremost, they’re so cute. Even if they fight for who’s bottom and are morally grey, the way the subtly show they care and flirt and act like they don’t is so silly. For a story from Harada, this is super tame and strangely romantic without actually being romantic? Aside from the rape n stuff obviously. I really hope the author adds actual romance, some character development, and heart wrenching drama. I want to see these idiots fall hard and have a cute ending.
Secondly, all the people complaining about how toxic this is really haven’t been in the BL/yaoi scene for very long. This is from Harada, of course its gonna be a little fucked up. Rape is in most, if not all their works and this is one of the least, of the the least problematic and tame of them all. And I bet half these people complaining will read studf like Jinx anyway lol.

I’m so curious about why Guwon is the way he is. He isn’t really a monster, but a guy who doesn’t know right from wrong. At least thats what we know right now. He has amnesia and likely forgot how humanity is really supposed to function. Depending on when exactly he got amnesia, he might’ve only seen the desperation of humanity, surrounded by death, killing, and manipulation. We have no idea what his past life was like either, whether thats also playing a factor in his personality or not.
It’s possible he was part of some kind of gang, and he had to kill people and dominate. No one, not now or then, would tell him he’s right or wrong. And so, he could use that to his advantage as it’s the only way he knows how to lead people. Or he could’ve been raised in a situation where people like that ran the people (be it a facility, raised in a gang, an abusive community/family, etc).
But that’s entirely speculation on my part. All I really know is I’m a SUCKER for that meat and how he reacts to stimulation. I need this man for myself, I’d gobble him up just to watch him squirm and beg MWAHAHAHAH!!

I TOLD YALL!!! FUCK HEONJAE!!! I did say there had to have been trauma that fucked up Jingi to make him like this, and I was right! I knew it had to have been CSA. The poor guy. It doesn’t excuse his actions whatsoever but its an explanation and he’s like this because he didn’t have anyone on his side and no one to help him. So, he took matters into his own hands and its changed his personality. It’s some kind of sick coping mechanism that he gives his toys the same hairstyle he was given when he was assaulted. Its what he knows. Similar to how CSA victims will become hypersexual and consume or involved themselves in dangerous sexual media or acts. The brain is seeking out traits that remind them of the trauma as a comfort.
Yet Heonjae is here siding with the man behind it all to get rid of the one guy who supported him until now. Just for another man who treated him with some basic human decency. Heonjae “loves” Myeongil in a sick, obsessive way. The sex (coughcough SA coughcough) is good and he showed Heonjae basic kindness. Although both Heonjae and Jingi were affected by trauma in their childhood, they both show two very real responses because of said trauma and how its effected them.
I love that we finally catch a glimpse of Jingi’s backstory and explanation as to why he is the way he is. Go get ‘em king and ruin that uncle’s life!

Honestly? Ya’ll keep complaining about Jingi but lets be fr. He cares more about Myeongil than Heonjae does. Realistically, neither are good candidates for Myeongil, but if I had to chose, I’d go with Jingi.
And no, not because of his looks.
Jingi at first didn’t care for Myeongil, obviously. He was just a new toy. But gradually, he actually looked out for him. And in this most recent chapter when Jingi says “cell 2 is full”, it proves that those two are all he needs and cares about. He doesn’t need a new toy because Myeongil is around. And sure, it could be convenience. But would the old Jingi go out of his way to give his toys money, items, or space? That whole time while Myeongil and Jingi weren’t on speaking terms, Jingi never jumped on Myeongil, and I think that says a lot on how Jingi feels.
But Heonjae? He’s getting people, including his own brother, out of the picture for Myeongil. And Myeongil is right; Heonjae just needs someone who can love him unconditionally and he’s anxiously attached to Myeongil because he showed him kindness when no one else would. For the first time, someone who wasn’t Jingi, showed him similar feelings. It’s not quite love, but an obsession. A desire and craving for positive attention. And an emotional release. He’s found someone who can give him more than what Jingi has, despite Jingi accepting his role as Heonjae’s caretaker. And thus, Heonjae believes getting him out of the picture over an assumption is better than Myeongil’s own happiness. Heonjae didn’t even listen to Myeongil’s wants about the prizes and assumed the best prize was the best option.
Oh and let’s not forget he took the opportunity to confess while he allowed Jingi to walk into danger. Into a place Heonjae fully knew could get his closest ally (aside from Myeongil) killed.
Heonjae’s fear of never seeing Myeongil again isn’t anything romantically motivated, but simply a fear of abandonment. A fear of losing the person that can show him positivity and is an easy lay. Not because it is Myeongil. If we’re being real here, it could’ve been anyone as long as the gave him that same basic human decency.
Sorry for the yap fest but I truly think there’s something deeper with Jingi and there’s hints and development behind his character in comparison to Heonjae who is progressively getting worse. I hope we get to see more of Jingi’s thoughts and how he’ll progress!!

I appreciate how clearly worded and detailed your analysis is
Personally I just don't care enough to actually look at these characters seriously since it's just prison rape porn with a drizzle of plot lol. It actually somewhat baffles me that readers actually consider either of them as "love interests".

Thank you for this because I’m still burning up how he let his brother walk into danger knowing damn well he could not have walked out. Heonjae is self serving like MF and how people are missing that point is beyond me. Everyone keeps bringing up that jingi has killed people but not we legit knows why he kills people his uncle is literally ordering people to kill him. So I feel like is jingi was never put in the predicament of being involved with his uncle or his brother he would be living a normal life. Heonjae on the other hand as we seen in the flashback was never normal so I think the outcome for him would have still been the same.

I hope the author tells us more about both their histories because I'm curious as to what sort of disability heonjae has caused him this jail sentence. My current guess is bipolar or maybe DID. Maybe this will even cause him to commit a similar offense in the story
Jingi has pretty much zero backstory reveal as of now, looking forward to it

Like after dealing with sexual abuse and trauma how was Jingi able to function in like middle and high school. Also I believe someone noticed that it was apparently mentioned that Jingi and Heonjae have another sibling. Would be interested in seeing them and learn about Jingi's parents. Ugh this hiatus is a good time to reread the story and come up with more questions.

My guess is undiagnosed BPD that worsened. As someone who has BPD I can see some similarities. And since its a trauma-based disorder, it kinda adds up. Sure, he’s kinda the more demonized, stereotypical version but I think Myeongil is his favourite person. Craving his attention, fearing him abandoning him, hating the idea of him liking someone better, doing anything for him for him to notice, not caring about anyone else, and going to extremes. I get the same way about FP’s and I’ve talked to others who are the same as well.
Either way, I think his character itself is pretty interesting and explores how mental illness and trauma can effect a person.

Your point about Jingi is exactly what I’m thinking! We know he kills people, and is pretty emotionally disconnected, but we don’t know *why*. All we know is that he is associated with his uncle who we see is pretty cold-blooded and two-faced. Going far enough as to get his nephew, who seems to be a good pawn, killed. I really hope the author shows us his past. With how much they’ve been hiding everything and not even telling us what’s in the letters, I’m hoping we get the backstory soon! I’m almost certain there must have been something that happened in Jingi’s past that made him be raised by this uncle, abused, and forced into the position he’s in. He was made to be this horrible person, but we can see that he still has some decency. Even if that’s only shown towards Myeongil who might be crawling his way into Jingi’s head unintentionally. I think there might be something there, and Jingi is changing. I can’t wait to see some character development!!!
i already read the latest chapter the moment i saw the notification pop up, but im back to leave a comment BECAUSE GOD I LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH. i cannot recommend it enough. its my absolute favourite manwha so far, ive even been collecting the physical copies!
their relationship and the slow burn is just. so real. so painfully relatable and real. i can see myself in both of them and relate to everything they feel. the fear of wanting more, fear of losing them, fear of them seeing the real you and what theyll think. its not the same overused drama in other manwha, its relatable and i can understand it all.
ill miss this manwha so much, but luckily with the english physical copies releasing, i have an excuse to reread it (for the fourth time haha).
i dont think anything can replace this one for me, and that makes it super special. i just wish we couldve seen hyunsoo introduce youngchan to his mom and see how she wouldve reacted! but its okay, they can take their time with that too lol
