The reason you don’t understand what’s going on is because towards the later half of the previous season, the person in charge of adapting the literary novel into a WEBTOON changed.
This new person is cutting out more sections from the original work than the previous person did. There’s a lot of information that happens in the novel that isn’t showing up in the WEBTOON.
Basically you should assume that, since the start of this current season, there have been continuous circumstances of “omitted scenes” that, had they been included, would have allowed you to understand what was going on better. Also, whoever’s doing the story layout doesn’t seem to understand what pacing is.
