From what I understand, the Emperor has already fallen in love with Yerenica but because of the witch’s dark power lurking in the palace, and since Yen is very sensitive, they agree to separate for a few years. I’m not sure how long, maybe 5? Yen lives in the Temple for a while but then goes home. I think she has to wait a certain amount of time until she’s not so sensitive to magic. Like a type of cleanse so she can be normal like the other people in their world. It’s probably cuz her soul is not from what world. They communicate thru letters for a few months but then after a while the Emperor stops receiving letters from her. I guess Yen’s dad or someone stopped giving her his letters. He gets worried and desperate and sneaks into Yen’s country to see her. They meet each other earlier than the agreed time but the Emperor just couldn’t wait anymore. It is implied they sleep together that night when they meet at an inn and they get together (don’t remember). After that all I know is that get married and have kids and the Emperor is super protective of her. Her constitution is always delicate but they’re able to have kids and be happy. I read this from someone’s novel spoilers so it may not be exact but it’s the rough idea of what happens in the novel. Not sure if the webtoon will change things but I doubt it!

I love this story but it does 2 things that I’ve come to dislike:
1) The disproportionate amount of focus on Jeanette. It is clear that reading this she is the second protagonist. There is just no way otherwise for her to take so much time in the story
2) The story is progressing at a snail pace due to mostly reason #1. I still don’t know how to feel about Jeanette. She’s too dumb and naive as a child to realize she’s being used. Cannot communicate properly and it’s just too one dimensional. After so many chapters with so much focus on her, there’s very little progression. I feel bad because I know she’s innocent but she just isn’t that interesting! It’s the same plot with her and Ex-Emperor for like 30-50 chapters now.
If I could read the novel already would have done so and waited for this webtoon to finish so I can read it in one go.
I’m also frustrated that Athy hasn’t even had a proper conversation with her dad Claude because the moment she came back to palace for plot reasons, he passed out and has been asleep and on that end nothing has been resolved.
WHERE IS LUCAS? Even if the story doesn’t progress I still love him and Athy interacting.
