They deserved so much more. Alec's father was really the biggest piece of shit. He literally met the queen and married her, watched her put in all the work to try and help him better himself and as well as his kingdom. She did such a great job with the Kingdom that they sung the royal family's praises, only to let her die even though he could have saved her when she ran into problems during birth. I can't say I blame the Duke for hating Alec.
It is definitely not Alec's fault, but if I got down on my knees begging....begging a person to save my daughter, and they told me the baby should be saved especially if it was a boy, and the aftermath of that persons untimely and stupid decision was death for both my daughter and her baby. MANNNN....Not only that, but then you have the AUDACITY to flaunt the child you had through cheating on my daughter around as if it was HER child and expect me to act happy like this child is my ACTUAL grandchild. Sad thing is you know the Duke was no doubt pressured to keep the lie that it was queen's baby, when he probably wanted to scream to the whole kingdom that that piece of shit let his daughter and her child die, and that the prince that was walking around was conceived through his infidelity. And poor Alec birthed and placed into this trash ass circus.
