The fact that out of 65 votes almost 20% gave this 5/5, makes me wonder what on earth were those ppl rating. Different tastes aside, no matter how you slice it, this isn't a 5 star manga

Anyways, different people, different opinions, I guess.
While I agree with you that this manga isn't that good, people have different ways of rating mangas. Some people rate them on their merit, if they have good plot, characters, etc. I rate them on my personal enjoyment, not how great the plot/characters are. If I went by if the manga was objectively good, I would have to give some mangas that I hate 5 stars. Maybe the people who gave it 5 stars really enjoyed it, or maybe they thought it was a good manga. Who knows?

It's fine to rate mangas by whichever criteria suits you, after all opinions are free to have (altho painful to express sometimes >_>)
But many ppl think that if you don't give a manga 5/5, it means it wasn't good, and give at most 3 stars when something was really bad.
But it shouldn't be so. I mean for me, even mangas i rated 3 stars were nice, and if you think about it 3 is the middle, meaning "it was an ok read", not that good, but didn't annoy or bore you
4 stars means good, and 5 means great. And i use a tag "the best" for things that were exceptionally good, since not every 5/5 is the same
This way you can actually use the rating system
But if you give everything 5 stars , it's like you don't even care what you're reading #－.－)
Take for example the one shot Gore_Whore just recommended http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/tears_of_a_devil/ , how can that manga and this one possibly be of the same quality （/TДT)/
(Just for for references sake, i gave this manga 1/5 and tears of a devil 4/5, and no, that doesn't mean i didn't like it or that it was bad!!!)

I agree that this isn't a 5/5 but I don't think we should complain on people's personal taste or the ratings they give and jus comment or opinions of the manga... On here there are a variety of people some younger some older. Some maybe jus started yaoi/shounen ai or even manga for that matter so they will have different opinions on this compared to others who have maybe read more or less .. And once they come back and read it they might feel different about it than before
I don't often rate manga and when I do it's usually for my personal reference of what I might want to re read or a few other reasons - just like u might create a tag on a manga for when look back on it for a kind of reference - and it's usually (not always but usually) for you not for the next person that sees the tag
when i give a rating its for a few different reasons and it's surely not to tell the next person what they should or shouldn't read or that they shouldn't have a worse or better rating than me.. People rate things on what they might feel at the time of reading the manga. Like I said before some people have read more mangas(and in this case yaoi/shounen ai) and some people have read less manga than other people. I'm not going to complain on others people ratings because I don't read my manga based on what other people rate it - I usually read the summary, look at genre, read multiple comments and more but even then that still won't stop me from reading it if I want to and rating it how I want to.. I agree. It’s more like a 5/10..the story is lacking. It’s not unique nor interesting. When I score manga, I think about how it compares to other manga I’ve read. I gave a perfect score to Complex, Ten Count, and Yondaime Ooyamoto Tatsuyuki because they really made me emotionally attached to the characters and their stories. Those manga are obviously longer...you can’t fit a lot of content into 35 pages.
I really liked Pikapika Days though. It was super cute and wholesome, despite it being so short :)

Interesting just how many ppl chose to kill someone and "get revenge" despite eternity in hell. They gained nothing by that and lost everything.
The ppl who originally killed them didn't necessarily believe in hell, even if they knew it was wrong, but the victims were told, straight up, that killing someone gets them to hell.

For real. Last place I'd want to be is in the same place with the person I got revenge on. But, whatever. I never understood the Hell Girl or this manga thing with choosing Hell just to get revenge. I'd rather just figure out how to make them pay LEGALLY or forgive and go to Heaven. I suppose we're supposed to understand that the hate/revenge-need is so strong, it makes you crazy and you make a crazy choice.
Well Hell girl is a little different in Hell girl you don't get to go to heaven and be reborn like Skyhigh. Hell girl is like people who are presented with everyday torment of life by people or situations we go through everyday. Only difference is your choice is to take revenge but risk the price, an eye for an eye, when you send someone to hell when you die you too will go to hell with no chance of going to heaven. Then the character is left to decide is their situation so bad to send this person to hell or just keep suffering for the rest of their lives. Some situations push them to when no one, not family or police can help them.Nonetheless somepeople would rather die knowing the person who hurt them is dead rather than live knowing there breathing the same air as them.such is life
Some people are driven by this thought "I'll be damned if I let you get away with what you did to me"! They just want to hurt them or kill them and make them suffer the same way they did. Why should they walk away happy when you don't. And even if your reborn there getting away with murder laughing and breathing the same air as you that alone is enough to drive a person to choose hell over heaven

The begging was kinda forced, and the romance part was waaaay too lacking.
The brother had an obsessive sister complex, and the only reason the girl fell for the guy is that he's the main guy (that doesn't make much sense but that's what it felt like). It's like the only reason she fell for him was that he was sweet and didn't lie ( maybe a little biased here since the prince type is one of my least favorite stereotypes )
And that airplane scene was TOTALLY unnecessary, I was sure they already knew each others feelings but he just HAD to pack up and leave to spice up the drama, and there was too much unnecessary drama even before that （￣へ￣）
Thought the same... I thought they should have more romance at least. After reading manga where the couples like each other with shallow reasoning or due to love at first sight... And although I don't like those kinds of stories, I've seen worse so I try to either lower my level or make it higher to appreciate the story. It's like violating rules and making your new sets of rules for it over and over again.
