Honestly if they wanted to make this story work well I feel like they shouldn't have just immediately showed us the ml wasn't doing something shady, like now we're all just screaming at the screen when we could have instead understood the mc's hesitance
I think it would make sense that the mc is so untrusting of the ml that he doesn't bring it up even if it would be the terrible misunderstanding trope. But since we know both of the sides already it's just us yelling at these mfs to communicate
