I actually like that he did that. She was given a chance: live decently or become part of the demon sect. She chose to pair with the demon guy. If she hadn't, he wouldn't have been weakened.

Did he purposely spoil the little selfish bitch to get her to act the way she did so that the Clear Skies sect was put in a position to eventually see him as this noble, courageous Savior?

There are mental abilities inside the police body, that's something at least xD But yeah, you can actually enjoy this if you think of it as an action flick. Fights for the sake of fights. Everything else is so poorly portraiyed that if we take it seriously is frustrating. So, just enjoy the action. Read with your brain on Off
