I thought Rosamund was being retarded at first, while I was reading how she spoke to the emperor during their fight, but she’s smarter than I gave her credit for.
The emperor is emotionally vulnerable to attacks like that. Almost like a child who’s attached to you. If you told the child that you hated them and pushed them away, they’d burst into tears. However, if you pulled them back into your arms in that very next second to comfort them, they’d embrace you right back. Regardless of how toxic that entire dynamic is, the child trusts you.
In the case of the emperor, there’s never been anyone who understood and accepted him completely like Rosamund does. This gives her the power to break and rebuild him in a matter of seconds—which is something she’s acutely aware of. So the hugging scene could have literally happened just as it could have been a symbolic visual; I didn’t read much into that.
Anyway, I think the emperor’s character growth is tightly tied to our FL. Because now she too can say that she really knows him and doesn’t treat him differently because of it. So it’s once he’ll be able to stand tall and not bend to Rosamund when they’re alone in a room, that we’ll see he truly broke free from her.
I’m glad she’ll end up with Jay, but I’m a greedy woman. I lowkey want her to have a harem ending. Have em all, girl!

Rosamund doesn’t make much sense to me. You want to become empress, okay. So why exactly are you antagonizing the man you’re going to have to marry for that to happen? Or is she like that because she believes he’s still as weak and easy to manipulate as he was in the past?

From what I’m seeing, a lot of y’all are judging Kirishima based off the common folk standards, mixed it with your idealized view on love. I personally can’t look at him with my own personal standards, because that’d be a waste of time and I didn’t expect anything else when I saw the theme and summary of this manga. Heck, I came here FOR it.
I’m continuously fascinated by the facets of his character. He’s basically a psychopath with an outstanding ability to compartmentalize his needs, feelings and priorities. He doesn't think there's a relation between love and sex. Sex is basically like taking care of his basic needs. He’s not some virgin; he loves sex and it’s available to him whenever he feels horny. He's not going to just rub one off when he can have the real thing. He’s not going to be abstinent for however long Yoshino would make him wait for it; it wouldn't fit his character in the least. Him loving her is something that doesn't even enter that equation. I do suspect that things will change once Yoshino returns his feelings and if it doesn’t, then she’ll definitely hate him for it—as she said before.
Still, their entire dynamic might switch up now that they’re officially a couple and I’m looking forward to it!!!
The way he feels about her is so messy... I wonder how the story will evolve once she reciprocates those feelings. I’m so, so curious.

Ah, but it’s obviously going in that direction lol. The author seemed to make it a point to emphasize on how they’re now basically stalking each other (bottom quotation at the last page) and things are bound to simply escalate from there. I bet it’s going to get spicier once she likes him back. She might end up stabbing him out of rage if he still sleeps around at that point.
And yes, I know how weird it is that I’m thrilled to see the story take a romantic, yet darker turn.

Yup, I’m with you on that. I highly doubt she’ll turn submissive, honestly. I remember her saying how if he kept that up once she fell for him, she’d actually come to hate him. I wonder what changes them being official now, will bring to their dynamic.
... I wish he would grow a spine, already. I usually hate characters like him, but because that’s not the case this time around, it makes everything super frustrating. That peer pressure bullshxt really pissed me off. What’s so hard to understand in “no”?
