… Why am I getting a notification for a chapter that hasn’t been uploaded…?
Anyway, I read it elsewhere. And I’ll say it again for those of you who keep thinking Adelaide is dumb or naive like she doesn’t know both sides of the world she lives in. That’s why she’s capable of seeing Cesare for what he is, where he comes from, and not hate him. I can understand that may be hard to do when we’re reading these stories with the modern day mind, but it’s because of exactly who they are as individuals and everything we’ve known of Adelaide so far that I understand why she wouldn’t hate him and why she’d fall for him against all odds. She’s also well aware of the fact that Esdra would be the better choice (at least that’s what she believes right now), so it’s not like she’s clueless about what a good man looks like. It’s about who made something resonate within her. That’s why I once said neither Esdra nor the knight are for her. They don’t touch the part of her that allowed her to fall for Cesare. There are three very specific scenes in mind that drew her there, and two of those involve the first time they actually had real conversations about society and their backgrounds together. She’s very clear headed as she makes the choices she makes. Did Cesare F around and is now finding out? Yes. Is Adelaide in love with Cesare? Probably. Is she fawning over him? Nope. She’s taking charge instead of just waiting around for a deal they made who knows when. Cesare has never been described as being a good guy, but the way some of you are appalled 60-66 chapters down the line is just incredibly odd to me. He’s been nothing but himself from the very first chapter. Unapologetically Cesare… though I suspect he’ll be apologizing some time soon lmao.

I would’ve told him to speak his peace in the hallway. The ML is annoying me beyond reason. The fact that he irritates me more than the red head bxtch sure says something.
Love the excuse her former guard/father figure came up with though, so she can stay in each other’s lives even after everything blows over.

Love it. This whole kingdom she’s building, it’s giving me the same vibe as “ The Male Leads Trapped in My House” which is a story I also really love and it has the added bonus of a strong FL (both physically and mentally). I’m good with Reikhart being the only ML. Cyril, the man she loved, doesn’t look like anything special.

My best guess from reading the 8 chapters + comments: ML and his sick sister were the children of the wife. And instead of loving them like he did the FL and her mother, their father abused the ML and his sister. Hence why he asked if her father used to beat her and he said he was jealous because she experienced something he never would. Unless the author is twisted enough to truly make it incest, the ML is probably not the father’s biological son.

Welp, I should’ve stuck to my gut feeling not to keep reading this. Tried getting into this months ago, but I was already annoyed with how the mermaid was obsessively thinking about Derek despite Derek and Felix showing to have different characteristics in their tastes and personalities. I put it on hold hoping that once I got back into it, he’d have accepted Felix for who he was, but nope. Chained my man up and called him a shell of who he used to be. Felix didn’t even hear him say that, yet like him, my own skin crawled. And I think we all know how this will end, because the main couple going their separate ways to the top being murdered almost never happens. I’m glad I only skimmed chapters 15 through 27. Saved my own time that way. I was really hoping he’d get to love Felix for who he was, so this really sucks.

Anyone knows where I can read the light novel?

Woopread is currently translating the novel, but they haven't caught up to the part where the manhwa is at, so it won't be anything new ( https://woopread.com/series/ill-retire-after-saving-the-world).
If you're fine with raws, you could go to Ridibooks to directly buy chapters or rent one chapter per day for free (search 세상만 구하고 은퇴하겠습니다 ridibooks). Or you could go to Booktoki, which has free raw chapters up to 342. If you want, I could send you the link privately.
Only reason I’m staying is because I like her personality and I’m a fan of love/hate relationships. Plus I like marriage schemes. But the direction and executions of some moments, like this latest chapter, lack sense.
