Not only was the author’s existence in the story not needed at all… but I have to see her and Kane get all lovey-dovey? I don’t like her enough to want to see her romantic development with anyone… I like him, but not her… she’s literally just “settling” for him…

Yep and not only settling for him bc she can't get ml but lusting after every ml. I find it annoying and disgusting. Even if she was introduced for comedic purpose, i don't find any funny about her. She was after ml and for that she even went after exchanging fl's body w hers w/o caring about her own creations and treating them as objects. If she wasn't just an author, and had introduced as 'villain' , and did the all same things as come between main couple, trying to steal fl's body, treating everyone as objects, bc didn't get ml, now wanting to go after second ml cain, PPL WOULD'VE HATING ON HER. the same actions and ppl still are defending her wrong doings as dumb.

Y’all slut shaming the ml ain’t it. The double standards. There was no guarantee that he would ever see her again, and for that uncertainty he doesn’t need to stay virgin. He can fuck whoever he wants. It’s literally none of y’all’s business. “If he really loved her he wouldn’t have fucked other people” what type of stupid shit is that? So if your partner happened to be in the same position as him where they fucked a lot of other people before you would you shame their sex life as well? Would you doubt their love just because they had sex before meeting you again after a LONG TIME? Disgusting. The male lead doesn’t need to devote his virginity to her just because he loves her. He was literally single. Who knows when they could have met again.

Well, I can say that if she ever found out, she'd be angry. So fucken angry. Like, "you were my first, how come you didn't save yourself for your future spouse." And, it will always be in the back of their mind. They will act like they're fine with it, but just know, they're really not. And when argument happens, that topic will be brought up at some point. And more anger ensues.
As someone who grew up where it's ok for men to sleep around while women can't, his background does irk me a bit, cause I dislike the unfair treatment. I'm not saying, she should fuck around too. I'm just saying, they both should've been each other's first. Save yourself for your marriage partner.
Also, he trained hard to protect her, so the "he might never see her again" is not entirely true. He planned to return to her.

It looks like some y’all are forgetting that the female lead literally laughed in his face when he proposed to her. And oh my gosh this chap was really annoying, I really fucking hope the female lead doesn’t immediately jump to conclusions like “that’s his girlfriend!” When he has shown signs he loves her… And although I don’t like Haruka putting distance between them, I hope this is an opportunity for the female lead to realize her feelings rather than take him as a joke each time he makes a move. Because to be honest, it seems like Haruka was putting in more effort to develop their relationship romantically. She just keeps him in the “childhood friend” zone… As if it’s some rule not to date him. And besides. This whole “distance” thing often happens with female leads doing it in shoujo manga. But it’s the male lead this time, so I don’t think it’s a big deal? Also, the second male lead. To be honest, he’s nice. But I don’t like him as much as I do Haruka. I even found myself skipping over the pages because I didn’t even want to bother with him… he doesn’t have much presence.
I love character development in the father and Reynold. And I especially laughed when the father said “if you want to shoot him do it where there isn’t any people”(?) BAHAHA . Derrick is just an asshole, though. Killing the mood with his rude ass.
