regardless of where the events are getting at, something I think would be amazing is to watch all this masters that competed, like idk, watch them in an actual demon gate raid. Seeing how strong each was, it would be cool to see those skills working together against a more important goal, rather than just to aim for a higher rank and look badass for the heck of it.
Finally some sensible action was taken. They are bound to have a rematch though. My money is on Arlo, despite being an arrogant bastard he got a head, and he uses it!!

After 22 years of adventuring, plus getting the top rank, I wonder, where did all of that wealth go? How come he, as a pretty successfull adventurer, ended in that situation?
How come, after leveling up and raiding dungeons that much for 22 years gets you with nothing but odd jobs to do? Where did his equipment, items, monster drops and all that money go?
Didn't he ever thought about a retirement plan for himself?

Well, talking about a master that shuts down a demon gate by himself sounds to me that we are about to get back on track. This Master War was a really annoying filler :s
... Ok, scratch that. This thing is all about a stupid competition to make themselves look badass. Meanwhile, the world is supposedly being ravaged by the demon gates... You know, the REAL threat of humanity in this plot.
Isn't the purpose of Masters the erradication of hell gates? In those expeditions it is stated that healers and support masters are really important (like, A LOT).
Now we have the Master war which should be like a side event for masters to test and enhance their rank and skills, where it is said that teams which focus more on dps are more prominent to victory. Between this and the menace of the hell gates which is more relevant to the world?
I just feel that suddenly the hell gates took a short break cuz masters are busy with the tournament. How considerate of them.
I always find hillarious how some characters find the strength to flame as they die.
