This is pretty late in the game to be complaining, and maybe it's just because I've gotten too old, but the friendless-and-awkward heroine trope is so frustrating to me now. The way they keep being the heroines of these stories implies most readers find them relatable somehow, but I'm not entirely convinced that's true.

I mostly understood everything else, but what I'm confused about is why Joffrey reacted like that at the homecoming banquet. Like boy, Edward was literally in your room just the previous night. You two talked and everything. Just what the hell happened after the scene we were shown for you to be so confused as to why Edward is acting friendly all of a sudden? To me, that's the confusing part. It feels like the sequence of scenes might have mistakenly been switched around or something.

I like the slow-burn romance. It feels very mature, and not in a spicy way.
