I liked that the story actually lived up to the title, because even though it's ultimately for the greater good, Sasha and her companions *did* act like the antagonists by setting up the crown prince and ultimately killing him. The crown prince was only guilty of being an incompetent and stupid cheater. Since he was meant to be the ML in the "original story," he was presumably redeemable under the right circumstances. Arth and Rebecca just straight up said "to hell with redemption" and offed him to avoid future trouble. I have mixed feelings about that, but like I said, it at least lives up to the title.
I don't care if it's evil or whatever, don't let that scumbag instigator in. Just leave him and the rest of the shitty ones out to die.
Everything before this latest timeskip would have been fine if the ML hadn't been so blushy all the time
Yikes, please say that apple also fell far from the tree
Lots of great and enjoyable elements. Far from your typical rofan story, and I actually love how ambiguous FL's relationship is with the empress. I'm choosing to look at it as a bisexual love triangle with the ML, though it sucks the empess is married, and the other yuri coded relationship involves the real villainess. Speaking of the villainess, she actually deserves the title here. She's what every other caricature of a villainess wishes they could be. I just wish the story ended after her defeat like it was supposed to, but I guess this last arc is intended to show the empress's character growth so FL could be "free" to live her own life? ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I love this two-faced father and daughter so much I just hope it'll be explained later why they weren't in the "novel"
Lol is she really saying his full name the whole time?
He's *never* beating those allegations (and tbf, I think the story is not only aware but also playing into that, as in his creepy weirdness is gonna bite him somewhere down the line)
From the comments, I thought the ML was a playboy who slept around despite having someone he loved, but it turned out he just went on dates for political reasons, and it's never really stated he was in love with the girl he met years ago. He just thought of her as his savior. He wanted to see her again, but if it was love, he'd have sought for her himself. It seemed he just didn't think it was possible for them to meet again, so "betraying his feelings" wasn't even a consideration.
Lmao at the comments ganging up on the FL, when here I am thinking the ML really is irredeemable. Kinda ironic given her backstory. I don't even see how fixing him would make the eventual romance enjoyable to see. All I'm interested in seeing is what happens when the ogFL shows up.
This was so sad, but in a good way. My throat hurt with tears when they finally addressed the past
My only criticism art-wise is that the kissing scenes look awkward, like the mangaka can't seem to depict kissing properly (noticed this in their other work too). I also wish Ellie's mom wasn't such a pedo perv. Imagine if it was a dad character drooling over a girlfriend his teen son brought home. This was just as disgusting.
Where is the line for those who want to slap Mizuno? I only slogged through until chapter 14 or so because I wanted to see Hachi achieve happiness, but I'm not satisfied with where she found it. Wtf was with that guy
Not sure if it's the same for all writers, but I've developed a love-hate relationship with a second male lead I created. I like him in isolation, but I became bitter after he grew more popular than I planned among readers. So though I felt bad for him when his time to exit the drama came, a part of me felt sadistic pleasure because it's like some well-deserved punishment for him for interfering in the first place. (And yeah, I know it's twisted since I'm the one who made him do all that, but I just really wanted my main pairing to be more popular lmao) This is all to say, don't root too hard for the second male lead—at least not where the writer can see it. They just might take it out that much harder on the second male lead as a consequence XD
I love everything about this! (〃^ー^〃) the art, the couples, everything is *chef's kiss*
