Well a chapter or a few ago he was saying stuff along the lines of “If I had (met) her instead, I wonder how I would’ve turned out” or like he was tryna suggest he wish he had someone like her before he became the way he is. Plus he was gazing at her like he was interested in her and that’s usually how crushes start in stories like this. It’s like a boy gazing from afar automatically alludes to him being in love or the start to him being in love with the FL.
This novel is actually full of people with sad pasts, so I would take that statement at face value. (Eunhan's background is comparable to Blake's, so him wishing that he had someone to love him unconditionally isn't necessarily romantic...though it also isn't UNromantic.)
