Ehhh that wasn't a really surprising plot twist at all... I kinda knew it the moment he started masturbating in front of him.

But doesn't mean I didn't enjoy this- THOSE SMUT SCENES WERE DELICIOUS. Sweet, sweet mercy... ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

I knew it was coming (from gut feeling and spoilers) but you can't freaking prepare yourself for this?!
(/TTДTT)/ ╧╧

I (we) knew deep down it was gonna happen. Armin was the physically weakest of them all and in a front line situation he was doomed to die. THIS DOESN'T COMFORT ME AT ALL. NOOOOOOO I wish it was a lie or if there's a way to save him- but we know he just can't be saved. *SOBS*

I'm worried for all of them: Levi, SASHA, Connie, Jean, Mikasa, Erwin etc. ITS SEEMS THAT TRIP TO THE PSYCHIATRIST IS DUE SOONER THAN I ORIGINALLY PLANNED!

The only good thing about this chapter is that Hanji is alive.

Onlooker June 8, 2016 4:27 pm

aaagggghhhhh the pain, why did it have to be you... Though I already know from the spoilers it still hits me hard.

GUYS LETS BREATHE IN THE APPRECIATION CHAPTER FOR OUR SUNSHINE CHILD. *breathes in and out*

it's been 84 years since he had his moment to shine *wipes tears from eyes* he's gone through so much... I-I'm just so proud. I can't stop smiling with this new chapter. I can sense that in the (near) future the respect Sawamura's Kohai will have for him and Eijun defence squad will keep growing with Miyuki and Kuramochi leading them.

Onlooker May 28, 2016 3:51 pm

What Miyuki said in the last three pages of 35.

"Those eyes they only gazed straight ahead. Only into the future."

"Furuya... You have no idea how lucky you are that in this school.. there is Sawamura in the same school year as you."

"Even if what they saw was different, the only gaze ahead."

I was so confused when I read this- I thought it was the way it was translated but another translation group said the same thing. So why didn't it make sense. There was two ways of interpreting this either it was for Furuya or for Eijun. It worked both ways.

If it was at Furuya, I interpreted it as Miyuki saying that he's thankful that Sawamura is there to remind that he isn't the only pitcher aiming for the Ace number. or that Furuya wouldn't have to compete with Sawamura- considering how amazing of a pitcher he's become. It's only a matter of time that Sawamura will start to outshine Furuya. The coach did say that out of Furuya, Tanba and Kawakami- Sawamura had the most potential.

And if it was for Sawamura, Miyuki would be saying that because Furuya could be used as a tool (a benchmark) to make Sawamura work even hard to become such an amazing pitcher. But these didn't really feel right nor make sense.

THEN it hit me. Miyuki was talking about their Rivalry. He specifically mentioned how Sawamura could replace him as a starter. Why would Miyuki do that? Did he want Furuya to start hating Sawamura? No he wanted to remind Furuya that it's not Hongo that he should be looking at but Sawamura. Who's so close to surpassing him in terms of pitching skill and control (if he hasn't already).

We know how inconsistent Furuya is as a starter or even as a pitcher in general. Miyuki said in 35 that he's just pitching with feeling. If you say "So? Sawamura does that too." EXACTLY.

The same way Sawamura was like before Chris trained that out of him; that 'a one-on-one battle with the batter' attitude. Because Catchers aren't there to be moving targets, like Chris said- Pitchers and Catchers are PARTNERS/BATTERY. It's not just the pitcher doing all the work- it's also the catcher's job to make sure they make the right game calls.

Furuya's comment "I'm pursuing the kind of pitching that surpasses what I showed on that day." I can't help but feel as though he disregarded the importance of Miyuki's calls- like it was Furuya who did all the work. I'm sure this is just biased of me.

That comment Miyuki said about Furuya's pitching as 'worked up' isn't that far off. Furuya at this point was just throwing a ball with brute strength- there is no finesse in his pitch. He doesn't think about who's the batter in front of him etc.

And this is where Sawamura is different. Yes he did do this in the beginning but we have Chris to thank for that. When Sawamura was doing some image training not only did he picture the batter but the situation of the game. [chapter 4 -pg14]

and when Furuya is pitching, who does he imagine in front of him? [chapter 30 - pg6] Hongo. No wonder he hasn't been doing well.

Also I just wanted to point out that even though Miyuki's face was proud of our dear sunshine child you can see a hint of sadness on his face. I believe that he's somewhat jealous of the Rivalry between Furuya and Sawamura. It's a relationship he's desired since he first came to Seido. He wanted the challenge of stealing the catcher's position from Chris but sadly he's never gotten that opportunity.

    nekonekota May 29, 2016 11:04 am

I second your statement that Miyuki somewhat jealous with Furuya and Sawamura's rivalry. We know that Miyuki want to steal Chris's position as regular catcher fair and square, but he didn't have the chance to because Chris is injured. So it's not too far-fetched to say that he's jealous of the two pitchers's rivalry.

Interestingly, Miyuki said that when Furuya pitching with feeling/energy, it's not called pitching at all. But I do remember (if my memory doesn't fail me) that Miyuki once told Sawamura that his job is to pitch with energy (kdkwjdk I'm so confused with Miyuki, so did he mean that it's different when it's Sawamura? or Furuya is just that bad if he's pitching with energy? wow someone pls do enlighten me)

I do notice that Sawamura thinks a lot about game situation before pitching (I'm so proud of him!), and I do agree that Furuya shouldn't just focusing on how he want to pitch that surpass what he showed that day in Koshien. Heck, Sawamura might be getting closer much more than you originally thought, Furuya. And glad we have Miyuki who give Furuya (and Eijun) a wake up call in the right time. I can't wait for new chapter!

(not biased but I do think Furuya's pitching a bit boring too. Not a fan of brute force, I find Sawamura's rmuch better recently though. But I think in baseball, they really like pitch with insane speed, eh?)

I feel so sorry for Miyuki, he's always wanted to compete with some in his level (but according to the guide book Chris was better at game calls). So him not having a rival was really sad- there was no one in his year/generation of catchers that could be on par with him. BUT now we have the first years in the picture. I can't wait for them to show off their game calls XD #HYPE

I think it's the way they deal with that 'energy'. We know from the beginning that Sawamura pitched with a lot of gusto. So when he first met Miyuki he just pitched with emotion. BUT this is where he and Sawamura different. Even though Sawamura pitched with emotion he could still tell that Azuma would be able to hit his pitch thus changing his course of pitch.

But when it comes to Furuya, i often see him mess up when he gets too emotional. He tends to have a tunnel vision when his emotions are running wild. In his match with Hongo he didn't think much about anything other than to pitch his best. reason why he did so well.

That was how I interpreted why Miyuki said to Furuya not to pitch with 'energy' . Sawamura can still think even in the midst of pressure- he was used to that when he was in middle school. He's used to that- whilst Furuya didn't get as much experience because of his old teammates. So my guess is that Sawamura has a higher mental fortitude compared to Furuya who tends to get overwhelmed when it come to emotion.

Yui and Koushuu will be promising catchers! next year probably will also the battle of catcher as well lol ( ̄∇ ̄")

Ahhh I see. I do notice that Furuya often lost in thoughts/dazed/let his emotions get the better of him compared to Sawamura, and Sawamura is getting better at staying focus in game. There're issues about Furuya's stamina and control as well. Do you think we'll get Furuya to power up soon? or maybe we'll get to see Sawamura to be in charge once again? (or maybe we'll see more Nori too?)

Too bad that they're only first years- they could've lit a fire under Miyuki :P

Well I'm sure that Furuya will start to learn a better pitch but I don't think it'll happen quickly. Building the pitching speed is extremely difficult- I haven't seen it in the series but I don't think that Furuya has been building his pitching speed like Sawamura has and he has learned any new pitches. (well not that I remember)

In other words all we know of Furuya is that he still have the same skill since his first year except probably a bit more polished. So I hope to see more of Sawamura doing really well *^* b

The spoiler was out today and it seems that Sawamura is showing off to the first years *PROUD*

Speaking of proud Miyuki is still wearing that proud look on his face.

Furuya's pitch is already insanely fast lol but it would be interesting if he pitch faster than he does now. We'll see~ I hope Terajima-sensei won't make Sawamura messed up somehow lol (speaking of which, it seems like Furuya wrote something in his notebook, and coach Kataoka looks happy after reading it?? well he smiled...)

yeah, all first years there looks so surprised when Sawamura throws the ball. I don't know what happened but it looks like Sawamura's pitch is getting faster?? but still lack of control? I hope it's usable for the match haha

yeah he still wearing that proud look lmao that smug bastard. It feels good to see the first years look so amazed like that

Ahhhhh This appreciation chapter for Sawmura was long overdue! We need more of these.

I thought the coach look a bit sad/dissappointed? that may be my annoyance at furuya showing though :/

I'm not sure how Furuya's gonna grow as a player. I mean He already has the speed and a breaking ball which he worked hard to get. But a prodigy is bound to become nothing fi they dont strive to improve. But how would you improve something that's already amazing?

I'm glad that the first years understand Eijun's worth! Eijun needs to be more appreciated because he works hard to improve himself ╥﹏╥

I know right? one of reasons why we didn't see much Furuya's improvement because he's that amazing! I wonder how he will grow. Maybe learning new breaking balls?

    I hear you: )
This is my first time seeing Miyuki being so honest with himself. Yui was pretty shock about what he said towards Furuya. I don't blame him. I myself would get bored or even annoyed if someone thinks he is number one without even trying to improve not just for self but also for the people around you. To what Miyuki said Furuya being lucky being able to have such a person at the same year as you, I do understand why he said that. Even though I am not in sports, it is such a strong feeling.

    Love this chapter
