Triad relationships in yaoi are very rare and I like the way that this one is portrayed. Everyone gives this manga a hard time, saying Mine is being taken advantage of, or Mine and Take should be together without Hiroi, but I think the dynamic that they have is perfect.
For one, Mine is an adult, and a pretty badass one at that. He can defend himself just fine. And Take only likes Mine because of how much Mine loves Hiroi...
I do think that Take should find his own lover as well, but if he did, I would think it would be nice if they continued to have sex as a 4-some.

The uke is a bit innocent and simple minded, but he is in high school, so he's least 15. The seme is manipulative, but he does genuinely seem to love the boy.
I don't even think there's that much of an age difference. 5-7 years If I had to guess.
The secret video taping is creepy and a crime but there is no sexual assault taking place here. It's not even dubcon. There is actually explicit consent.
So why are people hating on this? I've read much much worse on this site...

I agree. There definitely is consent regarding them having sex. The only thing that could endanger this consent, is if the uke is actually a bit plemplem. The thing people should hate about the seme is his personality and how he manipulates the uke and all the other things he has done (like the recording - which like you said is criminal)

Jisuh isn't interested in SunYool. SunYool's purpose in the story is to create conflict between the MCs. He's likable, but c'mon... He's a princess. He wouldn't be happy with Jisuh in the long run. SunYool needs a stable, older seme who finds his antics amusing. He would just wear Jisuh out.

Because that's his character archetype... It's fiction. And fiction isn't real life. Real people don't fit into neat little categories that we can label. Real life is too messy for that. That's why fiction has rules which we call tropes, cliches, archetypes, try-fail cycles. . . We make our popular fiction neat and make the people fit into their boxes. And we like it that way. It makes us feel like even if we can't fit our own lives into neat little packages with satisfying conclusions and all the loose ends tied up like a bow, we can have that in our fiction.
Even in regular old everyday fiction. Want to see an example of exactly what I'm talking about? Go watch The Breakfast Club. It's entire plot is about establishing stereotypes and then shattering them... But they don't really... Because in the end all of those kids fell into one larger stereotype... The rebellious teen...
Popular fiction plays inside the archetypes, literature tries to break them. And yaoi isn't literature.

I get what you’re saying and I can’t articulate myself that my well. But...... art imitates life. Same as we create those tropes they can be written out. We don’t fall into squares and why should our stories. So because SY ‘acts’ a certain way he can’t be with Jisuh or he needs a ___ type of guy. Like I said same old same old. And because of mindsets like yours stories like this will continue to be made. Stories become very boring very quickly when you can just guess the outcome.
Out of control a BL webtoon challenged the fact that both mc’s need to be attractive. Momentum is another BL webtoon that I recommend. I really liked FPOT because I thought this would end in a poly relationship something out of the norm but here we are...
Thoughts like yours seem to be the majority so I guess I’ll see myself out.
THAT FACE! O. M. G.
