A little spoiler, he only treated her like that because the empress kept stealing her power and giving it to the fake princess instead and the fake princess used that stolen power to brainwash the emperor and crown prince into thinking the MC wasn’t their family at all. As far as him finding out, I think he will eventually because he keeps seeing visions of the MC from her past life and how tormented she was.

Nah, I am still team zero romance. She is a hot mess with that mom and if you add love, the story would travel down the road of how he has to save her for love or some crap. With no romance he can still assist her with her horrid mom and still remain wholly disconnected. It can take a panel to solve and not an entire murdering of the plot.
