I was so happy when they dropped the tidbit about how the mc has never dated before. Cause I swear if his past was because of an ex that he broke up with and things ended up messy because of everything that happened, I would’ve been so turned off. I hate that backstory for bls so much, it’s so overdone sometimes and I just hate the ex whenever they come back into the story. It’s always the same type of arc and I’m just so glad we’re not having that here.

I completely agree with you. It's frustrating that many webtoons constantly feel the need to let the FL shine at the expense of the ML (and other characters). The ML is essentially reduced to a sidekick and as a result, I find it difficult to cheer for their romance －.－
But in general I also don't understand how it's possible that there's usually no middle ground: Either a FL who constantly needs saving or a FL who is completely superior to everyone else.
