I mean he’s not terrible…he did lie about his identity though. Imagine falling in love with someone and finding out their entire identity is false. Also, her being from a poor nobles house, we can see how the other nobles will judge her (ch 1 where we see the future and his mother doesn’t approve and calls it a joke because she’s “lower”) while he will be basically unscathed by society since he’s a) a man and b) a duke. She didn’t tell him what it was after the fact though, and just continued responding to his affection even though she knew it was artificial.

Do yall really think her concoction of substitutions was REALLY a love potion? it had none of the actual ingredients.
