Yea he went after her cuz he felt guilty about letting hinself get emotional and letting her leave without doing anything. He was trying to catch up and when he did, everyone was already dead. Thats why it showed that panels of him looking grim cuz he found shullis mutilated body.

The neusvashchen and the family of the actual wife (red hair) was a War Glory family, they saw shulli as *cough* whore after money sulling the family of their late daughter and ruining her children, just like how she was treated this timeline by them, just because shulli was so shut out last timeline and basically degraded her character in society to lowest point to save the childs, that family only felt them to be justified, So they wanted to get rid of the stain in their glorified family of late daughter and grandchildern. They teamed up with church who also wanted to get rid of her due to being a sullied women and get wealth/start a civil war against the empire. Ohara family further teamed up with church in this scheme and used ohara to marry jeremy to gain the marchioness title and with heir complete control of family after he is born ( prolly would try to kill jeremy etc soon enough to puppet the family), Thus ohara the bitch told her to get out and not show up at wedding ( they wanted to kill her even at home I suppose where she would be left utterly alone anyway), And then the Head Knight who knew her movements and cardinal sent men to kill her, They wanted to hide the evidence so they chopped her into dozens of piece and spread it so no one could easily find it out)

But now they're good LOL) i understand why you may be annoyed at seunghyun but seunghyun didn't expect anything BACK from the section chief he just wanted to understand his own emotions and also relay them to his new partner
I also think Section Chief overreacted, I.e. thinks he said about Seunghyun's pure love, etc., and Seunghyun was more upset about that than conveying that he loved Yoosung. Section chief's existence for a moment wasn't as the person who Seunghyun likes but as the person who was the reason that he couldn't confess his love to the person he loved in the past. It's jarring.
Section chief is very jaded so he quite easily put down Seunghyun's confusion which is why it led to an argument so it's great he was able to realise that he really really likes Seunghyun and apologised to him. They both now understand they're together because of the present and not the past.
!!! i agree so much ! people are so annoyed at seunghyun but i was honestly really upset with section chief for reacting that way :/ he immediately put him down- but i'm glad they talked it all out now :)
