the ml rapes the mc several times in the novel from what i've heard.
Only the first two encounters are rape (pretty long encounters tho the first one he was drugged and kinda got swept away by his body reacting to the acts but didn’t mentally consent) the mc does acknowledge consenting to the rest throughout the novel, questioning his sexuality and even willingly putting himself in situations where he knows sex would occur. Most people are going off random spoilers and haven’t read the novel but novel readers who read the whole thing in proper English translation know the drill.

really? thats it? wow, people were being pretty dramatic about it then. From the way ppl were acting around it, I assumed it must be brutal, frequent and graphic. Not trying to downplay rape, no consent is no consent. Just that ppl were making it sound very graphic and dark.
why do people like reading stuff where one partner (current or future) has to see someone they like perform sexual acts for others? Idk but it's just so weird to me that it just immediately ruins the whole story for me and I have to drop it.
Atp it’s showing us how it’s fueling the need and reason for our ML to save MC. It’s really not a great thing to read, but it add plot. If it was cheating I would drop it too, but our MC feels so indebted that he feels he’s required to do anything asked from the person he feels indebted to. It’s a sad, but true concept

And I was happy Luca mention that his culture sees it as normal and find it strange how everyone announces as a wrong thing lol and Makoto just accepts because he know not everyone has the same beliefs

Yeah this isn't true. While he did say he was polygamous before dating Makoto, but it's clear he gave up on that after meeting Makoto. He tells Aya he is dating Makoto and rejects her and years later at university a girl comes on to him and he tells her that he won't cheat since he's dating Makoto.
