Guys 'I Became a Villains Mother' executed this type of trope very well! If you guys are uncomfortable with the direction this story is going (like me) then I very much suggest it. A healthy mother/son relationship and guess what... THEY DON'T END UP TOGETHER! Woohoo! It's cute, wholesome and doesn't radiate groomie vibes, literally one of my favourites.

STRAIGHT THIS STRAIGHT THAT! I don't what these authors obsession with turning someone gay or being gay for only (*insert uke name). This guy is talking about "accept me for being straight" BUT UR NOT RLLY STRAIGHT if you're attracting to him and his dick ! Just say bi but with a preference for girls or heres a thought, dont mention it at all bc labels are overrated anyways. I hate how he would say he can't change that he's straight when he inevitably did "change" it lmao like that's the whole point of ur story bro
Naw you don't get it. It's a very real fear being with a straight guy and the author was trying to portray that. Since Ichi was the only guy that uncle was attracted to, he's straight to him; especially with his past experiences.
Being a bisexual guy myself, I have gotten these kind of reactions from gay partners in the past. Annnnnd I really hate the trope "I am gay only for you" ugh
No no I get what ur saying but I'm more looking from the semes pov & how he wanted the uke to accept him for being straight when there's really no prejudice in being straight. He was making his "straight" sexuality out to be the main reason uke didn't accept him (which I understand). But he wasn't helping the situation as he still thought of himself as "straight" even though he should accept that he is NOT straight anymore. Instead of reassuring the uke that 'look maybe I'm not straight..' which may have helped the situation he shamed the uke for not accepting something he can't "change" which is false bc he did change lmao. I feel like from ukes point of view I can see the problem with loving a straight person but from the semes pov he tried too hard with the "straight oppression" (mind you isn't even a thing).
Exactly but I do understand the whole straight problem. The uke dealing with straight love interests in the past was a very valid problem throughout this story. I feel like the author could have explored the semes problem in a more internalised homophobia way that caused the seme to become confused and beat up over his new feelings for a man when his whole life he thought he was straight. But it wasn't really explored, he kind of just accepted he liked the uke but didn't accept he wasn't straight.
I think the problem people may be having with the incest in this manga, even though there are countless ones out there, is that the brothers only just started liking each other and their bond and relationship could have been executed well as platonic love between brothers. The whole premise was about the brothers estranged relationship and how they overcame the distance between them growing up. This manga had potential to go down a fluffy brotherly love route but bc author threw in the abrupt romantic feelings it can feel disingenuous and fake. Their connection as brothers in the start felt very familial and domestic, almost causing us to relate to the sibling bond but then began heating up as romantic only in later chapters which felt off.
Sex has always been seen as this taboo topic when it's not. Sex literally creates life like c'mon! I am no way encouraging people to go & start having sex out in the open but sex can be a very pleasurable experience and when people are slut shaming the uke in here, I find it disheartening because I can understand why he would like to find pleasure in many different people. Everyone is different, some people like sleeping with different people for the experience and some like sleeping only with one person and that's ok! It only becomes a problem when people judge them for it. :)
what chapter does Valerie's misunderstanding about Jia get cleared up?? Like when does she realise that the Duke and Lady Jia are not lovers lol? I am currently on chapter 24
Well there isn't a direct face-to-face convo about this, it just clears up after a few chapters-- here they are
Chapter 27 - after being splashed by tea he tells her his feelings tell him he “yearns for her”
Chapter 28 - he tells her, he wants to “earn your trust” “i'll try my best since I Lobe you”
Chapter 29 - she asks why he lobes her n not Serina, he replies “what has this got to do with her?” she just spends a restless night after solving all her misunderstanding ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Yaaa, there's no direct convo bout diss tho (~‾▿‾)~

I really really wanted to enjoy this! It was going so well until we found out about Akira's "incident." I understand that this story is heavily influenced on animal instinct. Instinct is an uncontrollable thing so I don't blame Akira for what he did to Kyoga. What I hated was that Akira knew he hurt Kyoga and not only did he keep this secret from EVERYONE including the doctors but he kept it from Kyoga and continued to be around him. Instead of being the bigger person and getting help for this erratic behaviour even being told the consequences of being a chimera, Akira still exposed Kyoga to danger by being around him knowing he could def hurt him again. I know he even confesses that he was being selfish and unreasonable by claiming it was bc he loved him but I just can't get behind hurting someone in the name of love regardless of instinct or not. I wish I loved this because the story is written beautifully regardless of my dislike with Akira.
i agree! i think its totally unfair how he his EVERYTHING yet still made kyoga’s life harder by sticking to him on purpose but still being as asshole. not to mention him r*ping him just made me so pissed off. sure the animal instincts play a big part like you said, but him choosing to still stay around kyoga was nothing but unfair. if only he just came clean from the beginning... im also a little disappointed that kyoga didnt get that pissed about him hiding it. i wish there were more stories where the uke actually gets mad at the seme and seme actually has to deal with the consequences. anyways i fully support what you wrote and completely agree
