ok she is super duper dense but i wanna understand her position. she 1) was never loved before so her understanding is that people/divine beasts might love differently, 2) probably is confused i mean if somebody was sending you signals and you're insecure/full of doubt you probably wouldnt believe, 3) he's a divine beast who not only is animal but also divine so its safe to assume that they are very different cultural, social, physically wise. shes also pretty innocent in the sense that nobody has shown romantic affection to her before until now (that other guy didnt count, he was just full of himself) and its not like she was surrounded by couples or something to know what it looks like lol

He was forced to abuse her or her father would rescind his support of the duke, which is none sense since once he became duke there was literally nothing anyone could do to remove him from his position.
