Frankly, I was far from impressed. The writing feels rushed and disjointed on top of the plot being horribly cliché. Then there's the art. I got motion sickness from how busy any scene with a hint of sex or eroticism was drawn. It made the scene difficult to understand both visually and through so much excess dialogue. It felt like the artist was not confident in their work and thought if they drew a lot, no one would notice how shitty it all was. Less is more. On to the characters... two protagonists who look nearly identical and have similar, one dimensional personalities. The "prince" had some positive character traits until the 5th and 6th chapters. Then, the few, measly pluses he had going for him were shattered, stomped, burned and shit on when he didn't beat the living fuck out of his rapist father and then later proceeded to take the yankee to a hot spring to break up. He went from "prince" to "prince of the douchebags" in 0.00001 seconds flat. Overall, the whole thing sucked, in my opinion. Time, once wasted and lost, can never be regained. *sigh* On the the next manga!

    Onto the next one, yes.

Your right about it being confusing because of the art but I'm not sure he raped him but it was sexual assault both father and the butler? and he didn't break up with him he told him about going away to uni for 4 years and wanted to marry him when he came back there was a girl in the background talking about breaking up with her boyfriend, but yeah it was messy so maybe I misunderstood.

Fair enough. Though, I don't make a big distinction between rape and sexual assault since, in many countries, rape isn't the technical name for the crime when the act is done to a man. Sodomy and/or sexual assault is the usual crime termed when a man is raped, both of which carry much lighter sentences than the crime of rape. But this is fantasy and crimes in the real world are irrelevant. In the case of this manga, whether it was sexual assault or rape, it was meant to be seen as unwanted attention on the victim's part. Thus, it was meant to be seen as repulsive or criminal.

As for the break up, bear with me because I haven't read this in a few months and I flat refuse to torture myself or waste any more time rereading it, having a mob character's conversation going on in the background of a pivotal scene seems like really poor blocking on both the mangaka's and editor's parts. Adding dialogue that can be attributed to your main characters when they are discussing the exact same topic seems distracting and confusing, if that is what happened. Which adds another element of poor craftsmanship to the already long list.

Thank you for your comment. I always appreciate the comments of those who can offer a rebuttal and an explanation for their opinion. I hope we have a chance to chat again about the manga we read.

In whatever educational system churns out readers who can't grasp how to read context clues, lack reading comprehension skills and lack critical thinking skills. What do they have you read in literature classes, grocery lists?!

NEVER STICK YOUR DICK IN CRAZY. Antibiotics won't cure that shit. Is it wrong that I distrusted that psycho from the first frame she was in?

I can only say "Wow" to describe this story. I was captivated by the visual story of chapter 1 and thoroughly immersed and invested in the characters by chapter 11. By chapter 80, I had been pulled through an emotional rollercoaster that really left me quite exhausted mentally. So, when chapter 81 flew by like a shooting star, I felt a little grateful. I needed to feel relieved and I needed it quick. Even with flashbacks and flashforwards, this story never lost its smooth flow. The art, from the erotic scenes to the chibi characters, maintained its superb quality and charm throughout. Giving this story five stars seems like a bit of an insult, it really deserves so much more.

The art is clean and beautiful and the premise of the story is touching. However, there is little chemistry between the protagonists and the dialogue and exposition are so scant that it's hard, as a reader to connect with the protagonists. Raine was easier to relate to because the story is told from his perspective. Joel, the one character with whom the reader needs to sympathize, barely speaks five lines in two chapters. He moves from cute child to hot hunk who is ready to smex Raine in the span of a page with no inner monologue or exposition about how or what he is thinking or feeling. This left me with a lackluster feeling about the entire story. There is much potential in this new mangaka. I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing how they grow and evolve.

Right?! I thought the exact samething when I first ished reading it. It has all the elements that are usually in my favorite mango but I felt something was definitely off.

I was trying to hit the like button and hit the dislike by mistake! Gomen. I agree I feel it could have developed more. I also expected more of their relationship like whats going to happen when he gets older.

Don't sweat it. I've had worse things done. LOL I felt the same. Aside from the "biting" teaser, we're left with little clue as to how their future progresses. I'd have also like to see more of that.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but this story just pissed me off. I'm accustomed to their being some underlying reason for a character to cheat. Here, there is none aside from sheer selfishness. Worse, the resolution to the cheating conflict is a "promise" that is conveniently ignored. Again, a "comedy" that leaves me with nothing to laugh at and a protagonist that is written more like an antagonist. Such a waste of 30 minutes.

It has a little bit of everything in it, supernatural, sci-fi, romance, comedy, tragedy and best of all, it has a happy ending. I got a little worried for a minute when the sci-fi was thrown in, but it was well written and stayed true to the theme of the story. The tragedy aspect is a tearjerker, for sure, but it is written in a way that doesn't allow you to feel a heart-wrenching sense of pain and loss. It's written that way on purpose because the tragedy is the catalyst for the happy ending. The theme is also really beautiful. The red strings of fate tie us to the one we love no matter what choices or paths we take in life. I highly recommend this manga. It's well worth the read.

I wasn't impressed with this manga at all. The art is too busy and erratic, making it difficult to discern both the context of a scene as well as the content. The translations were only marginally better than remedial. So, again, the context and content are difficult to discern. Then you have the writing, which was poorly developed. You can grasp an overall idea of what the plot is, but the details are rushed or left out entirely. Basically, I had a "what the hell is going on" feeling the entire time I was reading.

You guys rock! When I click open a manga and see your title card I get excited. The thing is, I don't know if it is the awesome manga you choose to do, the incredible translation, editing and de-censoring you do, or the hilarious chat conversations you post that get me so excited. I'll choose D, all of the above. Thanks for all that you do. You make every manga you work on that much better. Keep up the great work.

This one is a typical "celebrity" story, but I did enjoy the ending. Most stories like this revolve around "fans finding out about the relationship". I never understood the conceit a fan would have to have in order to think that it's any of their business who a celebrity sleeps with. I'm a fan of lots of celebrities, but unless they commit a crime, what they do in their private life is none of my concern. I wouldn't want a bunch of strangers judging me for my personal life choices, so I refuse to judge a celebrity for theirs. As long as they do their job as entertainers, I'll remain a fan.

Mameiha December 14, 2017 12:29 pm

A deep, emotional story with characters that are multifaceted, admirable and believable. I felt truly emotionally invested in both couple's stories and loved every heart-wrenching and ecstatically joyful moment. The main couple's love is slow and painful at times, but their character growth is worth the wait. Most yaoi's have to squeeze this kind of story into five chapters, give or take, but this manga eloquently and beautifully draws the story out over three volumes to perfection. And the sweet surprise is a female secondary character that is just an awesome chick I'd give my right arm to have as a friend. If I could point to one manga that all others should strive to be like, it would be this one. Truly an awesome read.
