This was a very well developed story with characters whose growth and development are believable and interesting. Truly a yaoi version of Romeo and Juliet. I had some initial skepticism with the plot and character ages, not to mention the lack of police intervention for murders on busy streets. I guess it was hard for me to imagine, in 2015, that 1999 could be considered a "dystopian future". However, once I became immersed in the story, the time setting made little impact on the general flow of the plot. The characters, at first, seemed like grade schoolers running around with BB guns. As the story and characters develop, this ceases to be how they seem. In short, the story starts out a little rocky, but growth and maturation can be seen in the plot;characters and especially the mangaka's writing ability.
I would recommend this story to anyone who can enjoy a long, slowly developed plot with an open ending. It really is worth the time to read.

On the last page we see Kamiya on a bridge looking out over a river to another bridge. On the far bridge stands Koma, whom Kamiya can pick out at a distance even in a crowd. The fact that Koma came looking for Kamiya, even "swaying" as badly as he was, is evidence of his forgiveness. So, happily ever after!

Just cause they have feelings for each other doesn't justify Kamia's actions. I kinda wanted to see him mentally tormented and more guilty for what he had done and Koma not forgiving him this easily just because he has feelings for Kamia. You gotta worth yourself boy.
Well anyways, the story ended just like dat so-

Hadoka is fighting tooth and claw for Kou one minute, then saying "if Kou's okay with it" I'll let some freeloading douche-nozzle stick his syrupy dick in my lover's ass, the next. I love a good 3P, but these characters' were so repulsive, I couldn't even look at it without throwing up in my mouth a little. Sorry.

I'm glad that you enjoyed this story. It is the beauty of the concept of opinion, they all are different. Personally, I found the story offensive - because it intentionally portrayed fickleness, indecision and manipulation in a positive light - and I found the characters repulsive - the uke was selfish, inconsiderate and spineless; the seme was weak-willed and a push-over; the third wheel was a freeloading interloper who didn't respect the hospitality he was offered and he was under-handed, using only manipulation to get his way. This 3P came about because of the uke's indecision between fidelity and cake (seriously? this is a point of indecision?), the seme's inability to stand up for himself or his relationship and the third wheel's selfish manipulation. To me, there is nothing redeeming or sexy about how this 3P transpired. Had all of this been different, I would have also enjoyed the 3P.
Again, I'm glad that you and others enjoyed this story, I just couldn't bring myself to join you.

Amen sista!! Preach!! Honestly this story left a nasty taste in my mouth too. I would have enjoyed it if only the story had developed differently. The freeloader was truly unnecessary and the mangaka just forced this 3p instead of actually developing it. This story was a disappointment to me as well.

This is a beautifully dark and twisted tale of two men barely keeping their heads above the desolate waters of life in the underbelly of society. A prostitute and a hit-man. Needless to say there is plenty of sex and violence, but it is all done in a way that seems to redeem the protagonists rather than make them, or the story, repulsive. For a debut work, the art and storytelling are on par with many of the "old pros". Although the end is bittersweet, there is a bit of hope to be seen. This is a manga worth reading and a mangaka worth watching for new material.

The two protagonists found in what they'd been lacking in their lives in each other. Then, at the height of their love, they die in each others arms. Not just them, but everyone. Leaving no one behind to miss them or be sad for their death. The protagonists would never have to face losing each other, because they went together in death. Their friends and family, everyone departed this life together. It really is the only "true" happy ending to life. If someone dies, those left behind are not happy, but if everyone goes together, no one is left to be unhappy. A bizarre and twisted concept for most people, because we value life and the future so much. But it doesn't make it any less intriguing or beautiful as a fictional story. IMO

...they remind me of my brother and his lover. My bro is 6'4" and 275#, his lover is 5'9" and 195#. My brother is the uke. LOL

He told you that ( ̄∇ ̄")

I've known about my brother's preferences, both for men and being an exclusive bottom, since I was 7 -I'm 47 now. My brother and I have always discussed love and sex openly. When I got my first period, a lesbian friend of his taught me about using tampons and that masturbation relieves cramps and helps speed a period to it's conclusion. My first love - and heartbreak - was a friend of my brother's who was also an exclusive bottom. LOL Needless to say, I lacked the equipment necessary to date my first love. Hahaha. I consider myself very happy and healthy, from a sexual standpoint, because of that bond with my brother. I am immensely grateful to him for that.

A lot of women don't know it. When you orgasm, your brain sends out a shit ton of "happy" hormones that also acts as a pain killer and also at the same time, your vaginal muscles relax completely for a few minutes to a few hours.
We don't know it because we're taught women masturbation is evil and unnatural. It's so fucking natural that I do it almost every day.

...I enjoyed the last story the most. I have a thing for hot yakuza guys with ink. Actually, any hot guy with ink. The fact that there was a story and purpose behind their tattoos made it even better. The only problem for me was that the tattoos seemed more western than yakuza. I'm not complaining - they were super sexy - it just seemed odd.
...for plausibility, it gets a 0. Although the "love and marriage" aspects of this story are incomparably adorable, I still had a hard time enjoying it. My mind was too preoccupied with all the inconsistencies in the timeline and plot. Even the conflicts felt contrived. "Fantasy" would be a good sub-genre for this story, because vampires, unicorns and the Easter Bunny are all more plausible than this plot. Don't get me wrong, I love a good "fantasy" story, however, this was not only an unexpected genre switch but also a poorly conceived one.
