Nah, you can't fool me, this is an open ending not a true ending. The story seems unfinished. There's no conclusion yet that they won't end up together. I think the teacher does have feelings for the student. Maybe after the student graduated, they could date.
The summary stated it as a desperate uke but actually the seme is more desperate. The seme, knowing his crush likes someone else proposed to his crush to be sex friends. The uke has noticed the seme's feelings a long time ago but keep quiet because he was afraid. And keep the seme to suffer further (I don't blame him though, just feel a bit bad for the seme). Poor seme proposed a breakup because he can't do this anymore, luckily, the uke wasted no time (not anymore) and kissed the seme, confirmed it that it was mutual.
Overall is good and cute. Just feel bad for the seme that if only the uke had more courage to move forward in their relationship long time ago, the seme didn't have to suffer this much (again, I'm not blaming the uke)
