I've been following them a while and I can say they're not Chinese. But I myself studied Mandarin too so I can assure that the TL is right about this sentence. That sentence is kind of a basic grammar like the TL said.
And I think if they're not sure about it, they can put another translation on stated "this TL put it this way but I found another that say another" and I get why the TL is pissed.

I see chapter 44 you took it from the ig but that's not the title. The title is "Chapter 44: Potato Clothes at the age of 7 and a half". I think the ig uploader must miss them so they stated it like that.
