It seems like people like this arc but I don't. Every time I read about parents brainwashing children, everyone hates the parents for obvious reason but I hate the one who got brainwashed more. They don't know how to stand up for themselves. That's just weak and cliche plot. If I was the MC, I would choose to get rid of the villainess. It's a straightforward solution but they just have to make the story complicated by understanding this or that character.
Before yall judging me, lemme say I'm not a nice and compassionate person. All that is just bs. Put yourself in MC's place, can you do what he done? The answer is no. We all coward by nature. All bravery is just fantasy.
Well I mean if they just go right for the kill there will be no story at all and I think they do that so the plot will be longer or something but in my opinion the arc is good not my favorite one though
the mc literally got the sword of compassion bcs of how empathetic and compassionate he is, this personality of his literally make up half of the novel.
they don't know how to stand up for themselves bc maybe it's easier? brainwashed children tend to rely on the path their brainwashing parents had laid out for them, that's literally their whole character since their childhood as they never got the chance to develop their own. some escape that faith by standing up for themselves, but that's because they have an external influence that makes them believe they have the right to (directly or indirectly, doesn't matter so long as they can be convinced)

I'm pretty sure that part of their score for these "apocalypse" stories is to not only prevent it, but to achieve a masterful ending that is satisfying to the librarian. Just going and murdering the villainess is not a good story or ending no matter how logical of an action it may be.

Try to read more diverse books and form better opinions on sensitive topics. Brainwashed people are nurtured in a certain way and sure some can break out of the cycle but that just has to mean their brainwashing wasn’t complete. Haven’t you heard of Stockholm syndrome. It’s similar. You aren’t susceptible to brainwashing probably because you didn’t grow up with people like that, same goes for me and then I started to see people have such different opinions from me.
