Gaslighting is manipulating someone specifically into believing they did it said something they didn't. It's basically making someone think they were crazy by convincing them they said it did something they didn't.
I mostly seperate the two by asking myself "would this make the victim think they're going insane. If the answer is yes, it's likely gaslighting.
