Ue low key deserves better though
Not saying Mafuyu is a bad person because he isn't. He's very young and is very obviously emotionally traumatised. That, however, doesn't mean it's Ue's responsibilities to deal with the side effects of that. Their communication is non existent and Mafuyu high key needs therapy. He needs to sort out his issues before getting into a relationship because he so obviously isn't ready.
And because he isn't ready, Ue is competing with a dead person. If Mafuyu finally let go of his past and understood Ue and Yuki are different people, he wouldn't be competing. But it does feel like the reason Mafuyu liked him in the first place was because Ue reminds him of Yuki. Idk man, that just doesn't sit right with me.

True that. However, I haven't read the most recent chapter but from what I can remember Ue's lack of communication doesn't necessarily make Mafuyu feel insecure. It's one of those issues he may never know unless Is actually talks about it. However, Mafuyu's lack of communication directly affect Us in a negative way.

Man I really wanted to read this but I abhor love triangles so I'm just gonna go cry in a corner now

Honestly, I just feel like they're a really cheap way to add drama to the story. I love bl stories when the tension is more complex than "the uke doesn't know which seme to pick".
The creator made a guy like u. I did not like that all. It's not even due to the love triangle, it's just a bad story in my opinion. I expected this to at least have a different conflict. They could have at least spiced it up and have two uke's pining for one seme but nah. I'm done with this.

Heya! Before I read this, can someone tell me if it has romance?
During quarantine, I watched like every shoujo romance the world has to offer and all of that has really put me off straight couples for a bit because of how much I overdid it.

No romance for 110 chapters, you can read safely
Spoilers below.
Though, a certain huntress shows a bit of an interest in the MC, enough to care about his opinion and blush a little around him.
Apparently ahead in the novel there's romance between the two, but it's something I've read here in the comments months ago, so I don't personally know.

Does anyone else get a "more than friends" vibe from Gray and Stephen? I'm not the type to delude myself into believing characters are gay or are in love with eachother (even if there's potential for that). I also love friendships. For example, Khun x Bam is such a wholesome pairing that I ship in a bromance way. However, these two definitely give off a romantic feel that you don't get from regular bromance. Take this: if Gray was a girl or if Stephen was a girl, would you think they at least had feelings for eachother? I personally feel like this was the creators intention because it seems so blatantly obvious at some points. I also really want them to reunite because they give me so many feels tf.

Does anyone have recommendations that include a gay character (portrayed respectfully) but isn't yaoi/shounen ai?

Technically, Sasaki to Miyano is a shoujo (it’s labelled as shounen-ai on mangago, but it’s in the shoujo section of Japanese bookstores and isn’t published in a bl magazine), and it’s really good at portraying the changing feelings of it’s titular characters. Also, Ao no Flag is a shounen series that deals with sexuality and although it has some bumps in its portrayal of sexuality, it treats its gay characters relatively well. Another manga I can think of is Shimanami Tasogare has a lot of LGBT characters and themes and it’s a seinen. There are some others I can think of but I don’t think the portrayals are particularly respectful (although that should be taken with a grain of salt because Japanese/eastern concepts of sexuality are different from western ones so things we may not think are respectful, probably are more respectful than we think) nor are they particularly relevant to the overall plot of the manga. Hope these few suggestions are of some interest to you!

Tsunderes...you either love them or you hate them. In my case, it depends on the execution. Hyesung from Love is an Illusion, for example, was the character that ruined the story for me. He never gets better. He stays an annoying brat for the entirety of the story. The MC of this story, however, shares personality traits with a typical tsundere yet he is also straightforward with his feelings and isn't afraid to pursue the person he loves. He says what he's truly feeling and that, to me, makes him a likeable character.
The seme was great. He was sweet and caring. (SPOILER BEGINS) I'm glad he didn't immediately answer to the uke's confession because it shows his maturity. It would be wrong to enter the relationship with half assed feelings (SPOILER ENDS)
Overall, definitely would recommend. The character designs are so adorable. The plot is so sweet. No unnecessary drama. It's beautiful.
OHMYLORD did I read something wrong or are Kagehina playing in the Olympics together??????
