jiho what in the everloving fuck. eunchae broke up with you bc u continue to see that bastard, and you still come out to see him?!?!? get your head out of your ass and cut that bitch off.
eunchae is absolutely right and valid in his feelings. when ur in a relationship u dont get carelessly drunk and sleep at other people's houses. and whats worse jiho CONTINUES to get drunk as if that isn't what started this entire shitfest. and then when eunchae wants some space to think about things, jiho can't even respect that much.
jiho just doesn't think at all about how eunchae feels when he does this shit. fuck.

i feel so bad for azuma :( since his whole world was miyabi, when miyabi doesn't need him anymore, what does he have?
also guys....if you're gonna read this dont complain about the incest...i mean there was a warning right there....its like watching a comedy and complaining that there are jokes......

ahh okay so i made a long rant but then decided to delete it and read the rest of this story to properly judge it:
1. i think the first 2 incidents, tom was at fault. he didn't try to stop haejoon, and had expressed interest in being unfaithful. he became turned on in those instances and didn't fight back, unlike the very last encounter. i mean he even let haejoon put his fucking fingers with tom's cum in tom's mouth for god's sake. i do think he cheated at those points.
2. the last incident, tom was the victim. he was raped, and even if he did mess around with haejoon previously, it does not mean he deserved that. i truly felt bad for him during that
3. i didnt like how after the rape, tom tried to continue a dialogue with haejoon. an apology may be important, but he totally neglects his safety and also disregards how jaemin feels about him interacting with his rapist, which leads me to my next point....
4. tom and jaemin's relationship sucks. its based around the idea that jaemin wants to give love, and tom wants to receive love, but that just leads to jaemin constantly giving and tom always taking. tom even says himself that he is selfish, and he's right! by the end, this dynamic doesn't change even though the characters themselves are aware of it. relationships need to go both ways
5. and lastly, the fact that tom was swayed by haejoon's confession at the end. are you fucking kidding me? he raped you, and now you feel bad for him? and then you're tending to him after he fell down the stairs with your boyfriend standing right there? and then you go try and visit him just to give back an earring? tom seems to be looking for any excuse just to continue hanging out with his rapist. just....no.
i think this story is really polarizing because there are 2 topics that can be sensitive for different people. you have people that are very sensitive about rape, and will defend everything that tom does because he was a victim. then you have people who are sensitive about cheating, and will attack tom because he was doing sexual things with someone besides jaemin.

I agree with everything you said. When i first read this i posted a comment literally saying the same things, but to touch on the last part of your comment about people being sensitive about rape and defending everything Tom does because he's a victim is a really interesting that not only applies here but in real life.
I see some people saying Tom didnt cheat, he was forced in all his encounters and he was physically weaker so he couldnt even get out of a forced handjob even though he literally didnt try, he hit his rapist before so he wasnt that weak he never even attempted resisting the sexual encounters that happend before the rape. Its a weak excuse/argument but it makes some feel better, like a form of being in denial.
I find that people are allergic to ACCOUNTABILITY. Its not victim blaming to hold someone accountable for fucking up, even if they are the ones who got hurt but unfortunately it would be labeled that if you point that out. Victim blaming would look like us saying Tom is a shitty cheater, a hypocrite, selfish and DESERVED to be assaulted - oh well thats what he gets. Thats victim blaming. There is a clear difference.
Tom knowingly made poor decisions that led to him being assaulted and that does not mean he deserved to be raped, he did not and it was wrong - period, but his actions did contribute to that turn of events. He played a part in that - when you make bad decisions sometimes you get dealt bad consequences - it comes full circle But if you-the victim, and the people who support you wont acknowledge that aspect, you dont learn to do better, you dont get to understand that maybe you did something you shouldnt have and you are accountable for JUST the part YOU played in that situation. Your comments #3 #4 & #5 - These were the aspects of the story that just were so silly and lacked commonsense to me and had me like huh? Why are you doing this Tom, just whyyy ((facepalm))lol.

yes yes, and yes!! i definitely agree. he didn't deserve to be raped, but people need to be accountable, and take responsibility for their actions. if you walk down a dark alley at night, do you deserve to be mugged? NO, but it certainly is a reckless thing to do.
from a narrative standpoint, i kind of think the author made tom be raped as a way to absolve him of all of his past mistakes. because now that he was abused like that, he can be treated as purely a victim, and doesn't need to take responsibility for anything he did prior

Hmm, very interesting. If the author did use rape for that purpose that just further pushes the narrative of not holding people accountable. Its funny i never thought of it that way but i was annoyed when the rape happend because it immediately took away from all the problems prior, like all of Toms bullshit, his cheating, Jaemin constantly catering to Toms selfishness, and both of them having poor communication. Its like it was all washed out to sea to be forgotton because Tom was assualted. But if you had those issues before and they werent properly addressed and resolved and life gets back to some sense of normality after the rape - your issues are just going to come back with the tide, right? Tom got away with alot in this story imo.

yeah, i saw it as a way for everyone to point fingers at haejoon as "the villain," so therefore he is the sole party responsible for everything bad that happened (and i mean, he's definitely a bastard, but it takes two to tango)
its interesting to think about what happens after the supposed "happily ever after." all it takes is someone similar to haejoon to come in and all the problems they brushed under the rug will come back out. tom gets easily swayed by someone, lack of communication causes rift, and jaemin gets treated like a total doormat, possibly even more so because he doesn't want to be seen as "forcing his feelings" onto tom.
to touch on tom, i keep thinking about his fixation on wanting to be loved, and being the center of someone's universe. it might be why he is so easily persuaded by others into cheating, because he'll accept affection from anyone as long as he is getting that attention.
what really gets me is how even up to the very end, tom never tells jaemin the whole truth about everything with haejoon. its so unfair to jaemin, because would he want to stay with tom after he finds out the truth? we will never know because he was never given that choice to make. tom stole away his right to make that choice

Yeah that part about Tom not being completely honest in the end left a bad taste for me and made his character irredeemable. Tom knows right from wrong. He makes the decision to keep his mouth closed. Lies by ommision are still lies. Im not a fan of doormats - be it in fiction or reality so Jaemin being portrayed that way throughout the whole story was so irritating because he was genuinely nice and just in love. He deserved a better match than Tom imo. It would be nice if this had a sequel to show the after work this couple needs and to portray a REAL happy ending. Tom imo could use therapy, not just for his obvious assault but for his personal issues like why he's so selfish, needy, dishonest and weakwilled. It would be nice to understand why Tom was basically sabotaging his own relationship. I thought that aside from their joint communication issues, the relationship should have been okay but Tom was just doing way too much and i felt like Jaemin's pain, frustration and confusion about what was wrong was just idk maybe overlooked or maybe downplayed. It Would be nice to see them both but especially Tom purge out all of his wrongdoings and then do the work to fix their disfunctional relationship and come out more mature and dare i say smarter.

yes they need to just break their whole relationship down, reveal everything and be honest, and build it back up with better foundations because right now their current relationship is unstable.
the only reason i can think for why tom would want to sabotage his relationship would be because he feels undeserving of jaemin's love (which imo he's right lol). after tom tells haejoon that he doesn't deserve to love tom, tom does tell jaemin that he thinks he is not good enough for jaemin. its possible tom has felt that way for a while, and him being influenced by haejoon's confession only exacerbated that feeling. but that is just conjecture on my part.
i also feel like jaemin was very much mistreated in the story. he definitely had his share of issues, trying to fix things only through sex, but a lot of his struggles and pain weren't given a lot of attention by the author, and were often disregarded by tom, so he has most of my sympathy in this.
bottom line everyone needs therapy lol
im really enjoying this discussion! being able to talk about all these things is so cathartic!
i honestly did not like this manhwa because a lot of things rubbed me the wrong way. but the fact that it had such an impression on me, albeit a negative one, i feel that it was successful in that regard haha

Same, i did not like this either, all the negative emotions made me roll my eyes too many times lol. The Art is solid, but not distinguished enough to be unique amongst the common typical Korean art style they seem to favor these days. There were just Too many distasteful things happening in this to be "enjoyable" for me but it did hold me interested enough -(i can begrudgingly admit)-to keep reading to see it thru to the end. Your thoughtful comment stuck out to me compared to all the others, we seemed like minded on this so i just had to reply, thanks for the good convo and extra points of thought from your persepective!

Specially times when Tom was like:
- Yeah he tried to rape me and I'm alone at my home right now. But my rapist is knocking at the door so I'm just gonna open it right away cause he's not gonna try to rape me again, right? C'mmon dat can't be ~
- Yeah he tried to rape me but I'm gonna go to his house (alone again) cause it's important to return my rapist's lost earring uwu
Man I rolled my eyes so hard oh god

damn i really feel for hyunwoo. i acted a lot like him in high school hehe ^^; avoiding the person i like, but being jealous at the same time, and lots of daydreaming...its hard, especially when you're shy. it may be frustrating for you, but this is so real for me!
i think it would be kinda interesting if hyunee and hyunwoo ended up liking each other. im a sucker for stories where the protag falls for someone who wasn't their original crush, like For Your Love and Heesu in Class 2
so vincent just never comes back? best boy really just dead to this manhwa huh
Right like that doesn't make any sense
