I kinda get this feeling like Gunwoo is one of the maggots that got conscience and that's why he doesn't have memories nor undertands emotions or see humans as more than animals
He feels clean and yet tainted, like something has been implanted on him but that's not who he really is (just like that thing he said about the city being everything he has and wants to protect). He let's those feelings of cleaniness show sometimes when he's with the MC in such a innocent way that just can't be manipulative and I can't seem to hate him (yet).

I’m confused too because the maggots are people. They’re just being undead so he’s not bad that he became The scientist like at the start of the story like oh finding immortality and they tried to make something and they made Frankenstein, but they were all dead when he woke up so they got taught nothing. Maybe the hounds are what basically kind of fucked them up a little or maybe a restrain him because they gave him very specific words like where did he learn those words because he knows things but he doesn’t grasp them. He does not understand them properly so it’s like bro. Where did you learn the word you learnt also you’re acting like you’re taking care of the place not the people in the place.

Til the very end I didn't really feel like the uke chose to stay because they loved each other, but more of a codependency (does that word exist?). Tho I admit I cried with the scene of the baby and the grandpa (miscarriages always hit me damn hard), and later with their little girl talking about big brother.
Overall, a very bland and common plot in yaoi and I didn't get in any moment a thing to connect me to the characters - not their feelings, not the art and even the dialogues were kinda meh.
For the sole reason that it managed to make me cry a little, 3/5

Honestly, when he lost his memories I cried out of actual sadness. I felt robbed of the happy ending I was expecting and hoping for the two of them and just felt so sad for Dooshik who would carry alone the burden of those memories after all the things they've been through only to find each other
