The ending did feel q little rushed but the rest of the story worked for me. Could have maybe used 5 more chapters to pace out the ending, but yeah he was getting a little annoying denying it so it was fine they ended as they did.

guys i think this is going to be a top contendor for my favorite bl ever. And I think what makes it stand out to me is that there isn't a love triangle or any semblence of one to progress the plot. This is a story about two men falling in love after a lifetime of hurt. and not to mention, I've cried so, so many times from all of the other villagers' stories too.
This blends everything that I like together. It's an emotionally charged story, with lots of added comedy, characters with actual motivations, old man yaoi, a healthy dose of reality of being gay, and great sex scenes.
and I didn't expect them to touch on reality, but I think the way this manhwa approaches it, I really like it. from being an orphan, a single dad, or being a grown man navigating his first gay relationship. this story is clearly more grounded in reality and I like it a lot. it didn't have to be, this is fiction after all, but it reminds me that my favorite of all favorite works, I like them to be just a little based in reality.
yknow whats funny i never understood why people say that they can't get changed or do any sexual stuff in their room full of idol posters bc i never had that problem. like i got a seventeen poster on my ceiling rn and i've never felt that i'm being watched. BUT then i realized it was because i'm blind asf. like really. i didn't realize i was never bothered bc i literally can't see their faces from a distance bc i needed glasses.

i started this on a whim even tho its been on my radar for a bit and i don't regret it. i love them sm. like get me an extremely goofy mc who has trauma and yet reminds kind to the people around him. i eat it up every single time.
there is just so much strength in choosing kindness when you have been given almost no reason to. sappiness aside, this is genuinely one of the funniest things ive read in a while lmfaooo like the comedic timing is great along with the emotional bits. it's very well balanced and i love it.

Fr seems crazy to me. So many parallels between his inner thoughts and his feeling for hikaru. There’s literally a panel where he turns away when hikaru takes off his shirt and blushes then says how he felt he always had to hide his true self. He was also anxious when it seemed hikaru was gonna be confessed too. There are so many scenes which pretty much say he’s gay. But hey ho some people lack media literacy and if there isn’t an explicit confessions people will fight it.
I don't really give a fuck whether you call this a queer love or a bl, as a lesbian i use both interchangably. because i LOVE this sm. and the fact that it is a horror on top, really makes the whole message of the series even better.
at the very, VERY core of this manga, it is about love and grief. we would all love to think that we experience these two feelings separately. Like when we are grieving, we won't fall in love or vice versa. But more often than not, we go through both. Unfortunately, our lives do not give us the luxury to experience our feelings independantly.
That's why Yoshiki both loves and grieves so hard in front of our eyes. We see him grieve over Hikaru, but we also see him love the new Hikaru. But more importantly, we see him actually struggle with this love because 'Hikaru' literally isn't Hikaru. This is a whole new person and so Yoshiki has to confront what he actually feels. Does he love this new Hikaru, or is he just uselessly projecting his old feelings of the original Hikaru onto him?
And this juicy plot is made even better as a horror manga. because everything is heightened. Just like the author points out in an interview, (i'll paraphrase) in horror feelings like fear and sexuality are heightened. Which is why in the scene that Yoshiki puts his hand in 'Hikaru' he feels disgust, fear, and arousal. Which sounds crazy, but this is also more common than not to feel. Especially when you consider societal factors like homophobia from family/peers, and general taboos.
So this story is beautiful, but that's why I mention in the title, I want to know the answer to the question, what will they do? I don't really have a clear answer for what exactly this story wants to tell us. we are given this horror love triangle from hell. Yoshiki himself doesn't even know what he feels towards the new Hikaru, or rather he's avoiding confronting himself about his feelings on whether or not he truly understands that this being isn't Hikaru and whether or not he actually loves him.
I can't wait for the ending and I can't wait for the anime !!
