I agree that part makes me a little annoyed but it’s black the background is black that’s how you can tell though it takes you a bit because you’re like OK is that either a flashback of the present or is that a flashback of the past and that’s what confuses me but that’s a flashback of the past I wish they looked a little bit different not much just a little
Actually, I'm pretty sure the Emperor's hairstyle is different in the flashbacks (it's in braids in the flashback and it's down in the present). It's not much, but it's helped me to understand what's happening.
