The difference might be seen as minimal for some but I love it because the boy has something from Navier now.
In the novel because the girl had 100% Navier features she was favoured by Heinrey and Sovieshu (and Sovieshu named her his heir) and Heinrey favoured her because she was 100% Navier but has his personnality (and the boy is gentle like Navier)
This made the princess a spoiled brat that I absolutely hated. She wanted BOTH the eastern and the western empire (she wanted everything and give her brother nothing even though if she is empress of the eastern empire then he should be emperor of the western empire??) and she said that she was ready to fight her twin brother for the controle of both empires (mind you they were KIDS) and the brother just stood there quietly and pitifully bc he felt like his father agreed with his sister. He knew ppl liked the girl more because she looked like Navier and he was sad to be the less loved twin (so Navier paid close attention to him because his father didn’t. She was a good mom)
It made me hate the girl because she was a hot head stubborn selfish bratty spoiled girl who only cared about what SHE wanted and didn’t love her brother as much as he loved her (her personality was wild like Heinrey's so the brother’s personnality was shadowed/silenced by hers because he is like Navier)
HERE they exchanged the hair colours and Navier said 'the princess won't bully her brother, will she?' And I read the whole novel (adult me doesn’t understand why I went through that shit but I did.) And for me this is a sign that the artist might change that dumbass dynamic of loved twin/ignored twin

So there's a huge backstory relating to MLs mother that we piece together bit by bit through many chapters, and it's the main reason why he's doing everything
ML believes that FL has turned his mother over to his family for the reward money years ago (FL was sheltering her when she ran away), then his brother has locked his mother in a room under ML's childhood room and starved her to death, without ML's knowledge. When ML found out how his mother died, that's when he turned into a mindless killer.
The ML knew FL from long ago from a distance, he was attracted to her spirit and how she secretly listened to him playing the cello, and it was actually the ML, who told his mother to go hide at Lee-Yeon's house, so when his brother told ML that it was Lee-Yeon who turned the mother in, he went beserk
The moment he regained his memories (after 100 chapters of romantic bliss), the first thing he remembered is that the reason why he came to the island in the first place was to kill FL
That's when we readers get the first heart attack.
after this, ML decides to continue playing along FL's lies for a week, but his cruelty seeps through, he demeans and insults FL all the way through, while in some moments he's being sweet to FL so it takes her a while to catch on that he's regained his memories.
But the process is about 60 chapters of back-to-the-beginning FL being terrified half the time cause she's not sure.

After this she slumps into a deep depression, then she pulls herself together when she finds out that she's pregnant

When Kael says 'I dont care about Diana I love you but as a noble from the royal party dethroning this crown prince's CONSORT is not my job' SHE HEARS 'I am a character in a novel controlled by the author who will never harm Diana I will always choose her and NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO you can never change anything the author wrote'
She will litterally shout at Kael and tell him she never wants to see him again and I was like OUCH because manhwa Cael did not deserve that anger (novel cael seems to be lowk a bitch but manhwa cael does no wrong in my book)
She will say 'do you know how hard I fought for you' and Im like for him? Or did you just use Cael's name to excuse your personnal hatred? If she was honest and said I hate Diana because of what I consider the harm she caused ME id get it but she always talks about it in the name of Cael so when Cael finally tells her how he truly feels she lost it because he doesn’t hate them and Hestia is just a girl who is blocked, TRAPPED in a novel with only ONE man she cared about which made her fall into agony after he killed himself in front of her (btw she should tell Cael the truth about his death)
As shown Cael is her lifeline. If she isn’t near him she doesn’t eat she doesn’t smile she doesn’t live she is a 'character' waiting for the 'main' character to come back.
Instead of ruining Diana's life she should let the people and nobles take care of that and see a goddamn psychologist because seriously what she needs isn’t revenge its answers and healing
