For me personally.. i think she just really doesn't want to hold on to another traumatic experience from car accidents and she just wants to start all over with a new life?? But she just probably gave up on him since the hope they both hold on to for a month with their father ended up with his death in the end so she probably just doesn't want to feel the pain once again? Idk but this is how i perceive it
