I couldn’t get attached to TJ because of that when season 1 started. But then halfway through the season I realized he was getting a lot more screen time than 2nd ML usually get. Then I found out he’s not meant to be a 2nd ML, he’s meant to have as much chance as Jo has, to end up with Ian. By then the whole thing made sense.
Though it’s funny you say that because other folks find that he has too much screen time. I suspect it might be because even when Ian is with Jo, he thinks about TJ.
