I don't know how people are hating on him. He is a green flag golden retriever that is acting as an obsessive top due to an error. You get the best of both worlds. Because MC is so dense that ML will not be able to be with him without doing something drastic. They were friends for 10 years and that whole time he had 0 progress with MC. But you know as soon as they leave he will be back to being a cute and thoughtful person.
I guess if the author showed us them acting outside of this world with his true self would have cleared up that misunderstanding.
But I agree, people need to pay more attention to what is happening on the story. You forgot to mention that he wasn't sleeping for days to fix up code and he relied on coffee. He trapped MC to make sure he didn't mix with the side character. He was being jealous, but he was also right that we don't know what would have happened if MC went with the other guy. He also trapped him in order to not r*pe him again. He actually had far more self control than most characters I have seen in a while.
Yk what I'm just happy there's progress in the plot now. I am willing to bet 20 nickels that Big Evil Daddy Desmond is one of the experiments, and he's the last one.
Because Melinda said that around the time Damian was born his husband has changed and turned into an alien yeh? Anya and Damian has a small age gap. The experimentation must've took place around the time they found out Anya is a successful experiment (expecting that Desmond and Anya has the same mind reading power).
And I'm thinking that Anya's true mom is also an experiment there, dare I say— bred so they can get the powers passed on through genetics. Anya's dna was experimented on so it can match with Desmond so he can have her powers. I think the time researchers deemed Anya useless as an experiment was when she refused to cooperate to them (studying and shit), that's why they threw her in an orphanage. Bc they already got Anya's powers through Desmond anyway so they don't really need her. OR something happened and the experiment got cut (but this is unlikely).
Guessing that the researchers working on human experimentation being not in prison, and Desmond who's a part of it. I don't think they were actively seeking for Anya anymore bc if they were, they would've, even if they had to hide the whole thing again.
So the timeline I think goes like this:
Pre-war (child loid) > Experiment starts (younger old man part of it) (Desmond a boss already) > (teen) Loid joining the army > Meets curly hair > become agent > War ends (10 years before main story) > Cold war > Loid goes on missions (becomes best agent) > Experiment success (Anya born 4-5 years bef main story) > Desmond reads minds (puts a strain on his marriage) > Experiment ends (???) > Desmond tryna start new war > Mission strix starts

I think it's so fucking dumb and genuinely so out of character for Gyuwon to not tell Hwayung about EVERYTHING when that's what he's been doing. Gyuwon would've told Hwayung about the plan out of respect instead of 'leaving', Gyuwon would've dropped to his knees and coddled the shit out of Hwayung the moment he cried running. The author probably just wanted to push how 'pathetic' and 'psychotic' pretty boy Hwayung can be so he made him go through this shat.
