I mean..some people don’t read stories with the intent of relating to the MC. Some read for escapism. One of the most commonly cited reasons for women who read a lot of BL is because with BL the MCs tend to be written as characters meant to stand on their own, unlike in a lot of het romance where MCs feel like vessels for readers to project themselves in.
Exactly. I don’t exactly care for the attractiveness or ugliness of the MC because I read it with the intention to detach my likeness from the character (but I still do appreciate a well drawn character). I can relate in terms of the narrative and their experiences as a human the their social setting but never once do I think of relating to them in terms of physical likeness and their romantic & or sexual experiences with the ML or any other male character.

in the novel translation i read, with the side stories i think the novel is over 200 chapters we’re only at ch 43!! chapter 63 in the novel is when we start getting progress in their relationship. so if the manhwa keeps up with this 2 novel chapters per manhwa chapter we’re def gonna see some action
