Uhm… the ML is fucking foul. He is so pushy and rapey and literally no discernible reason for the MC to like him. I read about 15 chapters in and I cannot stand it. The fact that he just ends up sleeping with the gross ass Ml multiple times and we don’t even get to understand why??
What a disappointment.

I love this and I think my standards are all fucke duo because I love when two hot same sized men get together. The pacing is slightly off, everything moves too fast. I’m assuming a few months have elapsed since MC joined the group. Also, romanticizing being a hard ads to your employees is certainly a take. That sort of stuff shouldn’t be glorified even if it’s for the sake or art.
Regardless, they are soooo fine together so I forgive everything.

PSA to all young people, no you cannot fix/heal them. It was so painful to read the early to mid parts of the story. Never seen generational depression in BL before and the story of his parents breakup, so very reflective of a lot of people’s realities. You can’t shoulder someone’s burden for them and you cannot love someone enough to fix them.
That was my biggest gripe in an otherwise well done story. You can’t get someone to stay by hurting yourself, I know he didn’t do it at the time for that purpose but him he will die without Yijun. So fucked jp. You have to heal yourself, manage your depression.
The story stands up to scrutiny only because Yijun is incredibly compelling and has actual self respect. Him being strong enough to confront the ML, to break it off with him, to realize that they made each other miserable. At the end where he says he can’t fix ML but can support him is extremely poignant and saved the story for me.
Extremely compelling read.
Oops. Gonna love this and the detective? Swoon
