Josei is the genre which is mostly towards older teens and adult women 18-40. It portrays more realistic romance as opposed to shojo. It contains more mature storytelling then shojo. I thought it was just for straight couple stories but when I saw that Josei in genre I searched and I got to know that Josei sub genres also include BL.

Lol, apparently it means mangas that are targeted to older people or girls (usually) and its like realistic romances not like the lovey dovey yeah it's very certain they will get married. When in this case they will probably get together but its like they will also might end up with other people. Idk that's what I got out of the definition. I might be wrong it can happen with any sexual orientation.
