Bum is a realistic depiction of a mentally ill man who has been abused and raped since a very young age, it's not that he lacks a backbone, but it shows how endless abuse, neglect, isolation, bullying can completely damage a person. Also he is scared sometimes because he lives with a dangerous, unpredictable killer. I can't say more because it's spoiler, the comment above is right, go read killing stalking, it's a masterpiece.

But ppl saying the dad did nothing wrong, hyesung’s entire life he felt neglected from his father, whether that was his dad’s intentions or not it’s still the way hyesung perceived it, as a father he should've done better after all that’s what you sign up for the moment you decide to become a parent. And after all these years he NOW comes into hyesung’s life staking his claims on a son he neglected and a grandson who’s life he doesn’t have a part in. If his father truly cared for hyesung his first response wouldn’t be “I’m taking him back with me” it’d be trying to reconcile with hyesung and maybe trying to understand the new ppl in his life like his fucking husband??? And the new family he managed to find??? Lastly the part where he told hyesung his mom left BECAUSE of him, like his mom left him but that wasn’t bc of hyesung.
