I didn’t even start reading this and just checked the reviews and comments. It’s rare to see something so unanimously hated. Thanks for the warning I’m not even going to read the first page.
I see some people in the comments defending the lack of progress and saying some people just want the romance/smut but atp I’ve seen no one asking for smut other than a few asking for kissing. Which is understandable. They’re still coming out though so that’s something. There’s stuff the story can dive into but it either hasn’t or has no interest in doing so. There’s no excuse for the lack of progress :/ there’s been enough chapters to start getting into that stuff.
Of course we all want a story full of depth and nuance, but length doesn’t equal either of those automatically. We’ve been going at an incredibly slow pace with not enough to support it all. It feels stretches and diluted. Is short and overly-concentrated better? No. But most popular writers/stories can hit a decent in-between spot. I think it’s understandable that people are complaining. We are complaining because we care about this. Most (constructive) critics aren’t hate reading.
I’ve kind of grown disinterested by this. I feel like we haven’t really done much throughout this story? I could be misremembering though. I don’t find Maythan amusing anymore either I think I’m gonna drop this :(
You may feel that way because of the speed that the chapters come out (nothing we can do about it), I would advise you to re read to re connect with what's happening, this story isn't particularly slow and it's pretty straight to the point :)
