Side note: I started reading this from the moment it first came out, but soft dropped it after the chapter where he gets drunk and almost kisses his coworker because of Dionysus.(I thought it was gonna be a harem lol) But I just reread it today and it took a long time, but I’m so happy I did! The romance plot is so annoying to me.
The whole Alicia romance doesn’t feel genuine or moving at all. I think why she pisses me off so much is because she’s literally such a flat formulaic character that we haven’t spent time with, and yet people love her, and we know Vlad will eventually love her. We’re supposed to see her as someone the Vlad SHOULD eventually love but his obliviousness to romance is the thing stopping him.. I hate that kind of shit so much.
She’s kind of a flat character with her only considered “flaws” I guess being: works too hard(usually seen as a positive thing ), untrusting(not really?), and gets angry at MC like any boring love interest does (Even childhood friend gets mad at his “obliviousness” and blushes. They’re both doing the tsundere shit)

She’s a beautiful perfect girl. She’s like the princess in every fairytale who loves someone they just met.
She’s used him as a tool and blushes at him that’s LITERALLY IT!! We don’t see them become friends or coworkers overtime. The interactions are often “she admires his single minded non-deceiving attitude ‘cause he’s the “only one” who’s like that—>MC does/accepts/ignores romantic gesture accidentally—> perfect nobel lady blushes/gets mad—> he shrugs it off and side characters get mad at him for being oblivious”
I couldn’t care less about her or the romance I just want the main plot and his progression as a knight.

okay so I’m conflicted. First off I HATEE the “ML killed MC’s parent/s” trope. It happened in Viper too and it pisses me off. I’m rooting for this ML at every turn.. but there are just too many relationship ending lies, it’s just stressful!!! Like get it over with and tell him before I do. I can’t handle the lies and manipulation. I love smart manipulative characters but I want them to have a decent reason so we can justify rooting for them. I want to root for ML but it’s getting harder and harder because of the increasing manipulation and lies. Just love him truthfully and NEVER tell him what happened to his mom. The only reason I like MC is because he’s kinda stupid and still loves the ML.
