Why are people getting upset with Haechan?
Yes, his way of supporting the Main Characters is very weird and rough. He forces his own plans against Seongha but from my perspective, he's only trying to help him cause Seongha was going to deal with his problems without any help. He knows Seongha will go follow his dad's words without any questions just to get it over with, and last time he actually saved Seongha. (From sleeping with an old man and jumping off)

However, knowing what Seongha did in the past, he wants to save him again. So he's using everyone around Seongha to save him this time. (Cause last time Seongha didnt have anyone that he cared enough to keep living, but this time he has Jeonsu)
After watching Seongha for the longest time, he knows that Jeonsu can save Seongha. Thats why he is dragging Jeonsu in this plan, so that Seongha will WANT to be saved.
He's not a smart hero, but a hero none the less.

Hm. I don't see how he's a "shitty character" based on your description of "being a masochist, wanting people to be dependent on him and like seeing Seongha in pain". This story is much more deeper than just a cute love story between a rich boy and a commoner.
Haechan is not just a "complex" character who is sick in the head. He is a loner who lives in a messed up society and is bored. He find a boy his age, who is struggling. He helps him, by offer an IDEA. Seongha accepts the plan btw. Noone forced him. The evil person is the father not Haechan.
By doing it that way (sucking the old man) he gets to ruin that old man (stops any furthur intercourse) and prevent any questions from Seongha's father why he didn't follow through with the deal. At that time, they were strangers. At the same time, he started to like Seongha. But ofc, Seongha is long gone mentally, and a friend/relationships is out of his mind(he's depressed). Seongha even questions his help, he doesn't trust him (is there a price for his help, etc)
Also at that time, Haechan is not even powerful compared to now.
Haechan is the lesser evil here. I think you all read stories that are too pure to understand the deep-ness of Haechan.

I can see why you hate Haechan. Your feelings is valid in this matter, but I just can't bring myself to HATE a character who is honest with his intentions. He was honest when he shared his views, actions and decisions. He never hid his intentions with them. I might've glazed over his actions, but that's because I don't hate honest people.
