
this is probably like my millionth time re-reading and something i’ve come to notice is that in many ways the lack of character development or overall positive actions and attributes really just reflect many people’s realities. (rape, violence, all the negative and triggering elements of the story included)
some people never really change, situations never really change in others lives either. if the authors goal was to showcase that a loop of shitty situations can repeat because of whatever reason, they really nailed it. tragic but true. sometimes we never change and live our lives in pits of sadness. idk lol
Honestly, I don’t find Jihan possessive or abusive or whatever (up until now, at least). When you love someone and care for them for that long and a threat comes along, some people throw all their cards on the table. He’s scared and tbh he has a good reason to be. Love blocks rationality sometimes. People are complex.
