ugh the more I grow up the more I relate to this manga damn
I feel like this is my 20th reread but I lent my physical copies to a friend and she told me she really liked them so i had to read them again lol
Sucks so bad though... I feel like I can see both Imagase and Kyouichi in aspects of myself. The insecurities love can bring you, how you tiptoe around a person and neglect your needs only to blow up when it gets too much, all this insecurity, searching for validation and love while at the same time thinking you don't deserve it and then not trusting in people's love around you. I know this ain't real but I sincerely hope this works out for them...

Did you reply to my happy and ancient comment just to uuh state facts? Like, ok so? A good story doesnt have to be about good, wholesome people, nor is it portrayed as an ideal or healthy relationship. If you wanted that kind of story maybe look elsewhere? Did you think anyone with half a brain-cell thought these guys were the example pf what a healthy relationship looks like and you wanted to give me a revelation 3 years later that they are in fact not?? lol what?
They are toxic characters but they are well fleshed out, which is what makes them frustrating, they are not caricatures or villains, just pretty shitty people who want to be loved and feel less alone. And yeah it is not a happy ending because this is not a simple minded fairytale story where once you date everything works out forever and once you are in love all your flaws get "fixed". It is a story about people who dare to love each other despite themselves.

I have to say I agree with almost everything in the scanlator's comments, like this series is PROBLEMATIC AS HELL and there's so much triggering rape scenes and weird morals of the characters, but those comments popping up everywhere were HELLA ANNOYING.
Like not only were they there but they freaking put them in big enough fonts that your eye couldn't ignore them most of the time and put asterisks in the text about them. Like.. girl I get it there's a shitshow going down, but why can't you neatly complain at the end of the chapter? At some point I didn't even know if the opinions I had of what was happening were my own or just what those comments said...
That being said, yeah, consent is really weird in this manga and I really hated how the rape was minimized and treated as not-such-a-big deal. Also although most of the sex scenes were hot the BDSM practices themselves were hugely unethical, which at first I felt I might have been able to ignore in a way you ignore it in a rapey yaoi that does understand the absurdity and non con gratification of the sex it represents.
But the plot kind of took itself too seriously to ignore that shit... I think the biggest shame of it all is that the start had a lot of potential. Like, I was really psyched about this and got really invested. One thing I will disagree on the scanlation team's notes is that apart from the rape stuff which was unacceptable, I don't really pity Minho and I think that for the most part, his shitty actions make sense for his character. His whole problem was that he was a chauvinist and vain asshole that was too proud to admit the woman he loved was better at the thing he pretended to be the best at. I mean from the get go he was all about appearances (so him spending all that money on brand goods made sense as well), to the point where when he admitted to himself he was not as capable as a writer, he went after a professorship position, which he used to look down on. Even after that, even though he expressed disdain towards people getting into positions with connections but no talent, he completely jumped the gun at doing so himself. It was his arrogance that got him at that point, and even more so his sexist ideas and his inability to swallow that "a woman" and even worse one he was in love with, was better than him. I'm not saying that Doona's actions were justified (of course not!!), I am just saying that to me him snapping like that at the end made sense for his character and wasn't a leap of logic just to make him a villain. The most problematic relationship is of course Doona's with the puppy guy. It's kinda disturbing, because it's obvious the dude has codependency issues and that their relationship is pretty uneven.
Also, does anyone else feel like Minho's ending felt like a bad ending you'd get in a Nitro Chiral game? No, just me? >_> (Honestly half the sex scenes were a Nitro Chiral bad ending lmao)

At first I was annoyed at the misunderstanding but now I quite like that the characters are a bit stupid. Like somehow they are not archetypes, they feel more like normal insecure foolish people who act out and go with their desires and fears on impulse. I also really hated Mari before for her attitude, but now I see that at her age it makes a bit sense that she needed some time to get mad. She was framed as quite self absorbed and kind of a love starved attention seeking person. It must have took her a while to understand her best friend's hypothetical betrayal.
Idk I just like how everyone is so shitty. And Shihoon also, I can really relate to him. Idk it's all just really good and it shows how petty and shitty love can be a lot of the time. Always worth a reread!

I think this manhwa is really confronting. It really shows how we don't trust that other people have no hidden agenda when they just want to give, and the uke's personality really covers that well.
I'm kind of both people as a person, and what I've learned is that from a psychological standpoint this behavior doesn't hold up for the long run. When you keep on putting other people's needs over your own, your needs end up not being fulfilled, and that slowly causes you to subconsciously resent the people you care about, as if that's their fault.
So the only explanation for the seme's character is that he has completely resigned himself to this behavior to the point that he has almost killed his ego, and can only vicariously feel happiness and satisfaction by pleasing other people. Which is actually pretty sad. I hope he learns to accept back in his relationships, even if it's only a bit.

I'm pretty sure Soo Won is just being a sour bitch ass because he doesn't want to admit the childhood friend who he almost killed would be a great ruler. That kind of fucks up with the whole uprising situation thing dont it lol
Though then again if he hadn't Yona wouldn't have become who she is and him betraying them like that was already prophesied as part of his fate into aiding Yona become a ruler.
Oooooh maybe that's why he's not considering it that's gotta sting lol
I know dis bitchy and I'm super grateful either way but what does stolen scans even mean lol is there honor among thieves? (I mean we all thieves and pirates here aint we all? XD)
