The argument is actually good, the story is well paced in my opinion. The problem resides in the main pairing.

The FL was sold as a slave by the ML who was her best friend and first love, due to that she was mistreated, tortured and mutilated, holding a deep hatred for the ML, understandable. After being sold as as a slave for the 16327726 time she ends up as a night company for the ML who doesn't recognise her and, brace yourself, RAPES her on various occasions until he realises she is his "long lost friend". At this point he really repents and begs for her forgiveness but none of that for this sorry excuse of a human, as it should be. That is, till she decides to give him a second chance because she still has feeling for him...and my friend...fuck that shit. That's why everyone it's about to lose it, for that absurdity that would happen in real life but it's a sad constant in a manga plot puff. Hope it helps
