The trio was refreshing and Yoshiki looked more like an outsider intervening needlessly. Yamato is goddamn 2d that just when he had some air of personality, he ended up being Yoshiki . Like i missed kogawa and yukie after ch3.
ch5 was basically the older brother introducing his younger brother to incest like ofc the first time sticks and he thinks he's in love because of the sexual experience he has had with his older brother.
Same with the ch6 where his uncle totally wired the uke into thinking he should just accept confessions cause he felt like his UNCLE's death was his fault

[Having exposed myself to DID made this less and less interesting because my brain is just fact checking the whole thing. I know it's fiction, but someone with DID has personally addressed how media misrepresent them or lead to numerous stereotypes that either harm them or undermine their trauma and experience] — like, as someone who loved split personality tropes and the Split movie, I'm both sorry for taking the disorder lightly (even thought it was just fictional/fantasy like) and thankful that I found a channel that educated me.

Nonetheless, Junhee is so out there LMAO, hu could resist? And Go un reminds me of my first love and "just" bestfriends. Except she's not lesbian nor Bi, and she doesn't know that I'm Bi yet. The really kind and timid person who can't say no and is ridiculously wholesome and softhearted. I adore Hara for pursuing Go Un until the end tbh, although she is invasive and borderline stalker-sexually imposive during the first half

First, yes, Kanda is dripping with masculinity. Second, Satomi is so adorable! Third, i'm losing my shit for Satomi's friend seemingly boyfriendless energy HAHAHA girl, where's ur boyfriend and why do act so thirsty

Cherry on top would be Satomi needing three bases to fully realize that Kanda is a girl kanda is just slowly losing her identity as a girl with how much proof Satomi needs. (ngl, I'm jealous of Kanda's body. )

It just jumped in the middle of Kouki's internal conflict and the execution muddled the set up of the "family".

It must have been better to start with the remarrying and being abandoned backstory, then showing how Kouki is distant with his new family. Then turning to photography to cope with it, like wanting to understand why his father could just leave. His feelings for Yuuri could've developed while taking photos of him during adolescence (like, the shot where Yuuri was with the birds could have been his trigger, the actual moment of realization that he has fallen in love with his younger stepbro). I mean, Yuuri had an arc of recognizing his feelings while Kouki just seemed to have felt romantically interested with his younger stepbro and we're given this "caight redhanded" by the older sister.

I just feel like the execution is muddled and takes too much brainpower and stitching to fully appreciate the intensity of their feelings. I can't relate to them because their feelings are just synthetic and dramatic. I couldn't connect because they're just pining for each other without really showing that they were brothers first. It just jumped the gun. Boom, they're in love. Stepbros with an unrealistically supportive family. The mom just seemed uncaring even if she's drawn to be "understanding". The sister showed more reluctance and acceptance, she's a solid character in the least.

    MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY
This could've been a much better manga, it felt so shallow :(

The idiot is spoiled and his last resort to become a yakuza ended up being a yakuza's "wife".

I love that evidence of mutual love which the doctor has for Sunao. Because he was shaking and feared causing Sunao's death during a might-be-needed surgery, he rejects the notion of ever being in-charge of the surgery. I'm in love with the consistency of effort of Sunao and the subtle reciprocation of the doctor. Having confessed to each other before even having sex is always a wholesome plot device because labels gives that assurance.

Tbh, I'm so tired of "just because we had sex once" kind of angst. Like there are works that use it well, and there's the dragging execution which prolongs the push-and-pull needlessly. So having a linear and progressive relationship is refreshing.

When the mom whipped out the albums and said she wanted to boast their time with Michiru/Rito to those who knew him at the orphanage, I cried a little. Like, she adored him to the point of wanting to prove that they valued and cherished Rito when they adopted him.

Also, Taiyoh is so funny at the end. He's panicky as if he's a father who was just about to miss the birth of his child. (also proves that families isn't just about blood relations so if Taiyoh and Rito choose to make a family besides themselves, they can adopt those who have been orphaned)

Istg, i am in love with them. Thanks for uploading the extra! I think it's nice to see the 2nd volume attached here for the sake of fluidity.

I kinda cringed at the manhandling yet flowerly interpretation. Like, Shizuko, calm the fuck down and stop assaulting Izumi with your feelings.
It literally is shoujo ai, in the shoujo-sense of emotional, impulsive, yet also somewhat endearing. It has that emotional development in Izumi which I liked but wished it developed more consistently instead of a jump from "I'm weak on my knees and totally tempted, but I told you not to put me in the spot" to "Here I am logically explaining how difficult it was to hold on to my unrequited feelings for the professor". Like, a little drama to match the hurtful rejection would be nice. Coz it was served a little coldly at the end.

But maybe it's just my preference for less dramatic or theatrical execution that is seeping in which is why it takes longer for me to appreciate this. The art is cute tho, really pretty.

All the birthday mishap and turmoil boil down to communication. Sit down, talk, listen. Instead of losing your shit and getting all dramatic and locked up in your little world (to which I, an impulsive and emotional mess, am ashamed of and still works hard to tone it down and actually listen).

But, damn, that ending note just hurts. Opportunities, opportunities
